According to 0ffice of the Comptroller of the Currency
www.occ.gov... 3rd quarter 2009, the top five banks with the most
derivatives activity hold 97% of all derivatives. They are:
1 JP Morgan $79 TRILLION in Toxic Derivatives – Down $2 Trillion
2 Bank 0f America $75 TRILLION – Down $3 Trillion
3 Goldman Sachs $50 TRILLION – Up $2 Trillion
4 Morgan Stanley $42 TRILLION – Up $3 Trillion
5 Citigroup $34.5 TRILLION – Up $2.5 Trillion
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
$280.5 TRILLION
As you can clearly see, 3 of the 5 Banks have increased their hidden toxic waste by $7.5 trillion in a quarter! Notice also in this report:
www.occ.gov...
that the derivatives activity has doubled around every 5 year increments.
1995 $16.85 Trillion
1996 17.85 Trillion
1997 17.1 Trillion
1998 28.2 Trillion
1999 34.8 Trillion
2000 40.5 Trillion
2001 45.4 Trillion
2002 56.1 Trillion
2003 71.1 Trillion
2004 87.9 Trillion
2005 101.5 Trillion
2006 131.0 Trillion
2007 164.2 Trillion
2008 200.4 Trillion
2009 204.3 Trillion
The entire world's GDP
siteresources.worldbank.org... is $60.5 trillion, so these top 5 banks have 460% more
money in derivatives activity. That is absurd. These gamblers obviously have learned an important lesson from last year; risk taking is gold,
especially if the taxpayers got your back!
