Oh give me a break! This past week, Americans have become aware of countless overreactions by airline pilots, flight attendants, and TSA screeners. They hysteria and incompetence is running rampant...causing Americans to think we're unsafe by terrorists all around us, in every airport, and on every airplane.

One of the most foolish incidents occurred this past week when a TSA screener left his post, resulting in a passenger entering a restricted area of the airport. The passenger was never found and the terminal was closed for over three hours.

Does he lose his job? Absolutely not! The union heralds him as a hero, of course!!!

A guard whose failure to see a man bypass security at the Newark airport led to major delays and harsh criticism of the Transportation Security Administration was described Friday by the union representing him as a "model employee."

TSA employees are not unionized, but the American Federation of Government Employees is representing him.

Not sure what the bigger joke here is--the incompetence being lauded as a "model" for all other TSA employees or the union defending this incompetence?

They have to call him a model emplyee. If they said yeah, we expected him to do something like this, he's always had a poor work record, it would make them even ridiculous then they already do. good post.

Maybe he was a model employee. But all it takes is one "aww crap" to wipeout 100 "atta boy's". He screwed up, no doubt and deserves punishment.

BTW, they found the guy, arrested him at his home in NJ.
