U.S. Embassy in Baghdad plans to double in size

The Baghdad embassy is already the largest in the world and bursting at the seams with people and equipment.

As the military continues to drawdown in Iraq, the U.S. Embassy there is taking over many of the "critical missions" that the military has been heavily involved in for years, and fundamental changes in the American role in Iraq are coming.

Further into the article, it's revealed that one of the "critical missions" is to train the new police "middle management". Call them police chiefs or military officers, we are still talking about men with guns who lead many more men with guns, who do as we say. This notion of a "transition" looks like progress from the surface, but it's really no different then what we have already established, complete total control over all our interests in the country.

I also can't help to question, what other "critical missions" the embassy will be inheriting from the military. With the war drums still beating for Iran, i would image more then catering diplomatic lunch-ins . Anyone know, or have any ideas?

...and yet, lie after lie, we still have the masses gobbling up every morsel that the spin doctors pour into their troughs. It's unbelievable how far out of their way some of these myopic jingoistic adult-children will go to "defend" their country from any justifiable criticism.

No matter how much evidence you show them, that we have plans to stay indefinitely, they will deny and lie to their last day, for the sake of "honor" aka "ego".
