DoD: More Ex-Gitmo Inmates Rejoin Fight

WASHINGTON -- One in five terror suspects released from the Guantanamo Bay prison has returned to the fight, according to a classified Pentagon report expected to stoke an already fierce debate over President Barack Obama's plan to close the military prison.

The finding reflects an upward trend on the recidivism rate, although human rights activists who advocate closing the prison have questioned the validity of such numbers.

More evidence to support my contention that Guantanamo Bay more or less functions as a CIA run Terrorist Training School that primarily catches low level enemy combatants and then houses them with senior much more experience radical Islamic extremists before releasing them back out into the world.

Just like in U.S. Prisons that function often as crime schools to teach budding career criminals new skills, angles, cons and scams, Guantanamo teaches young militant firebrands the inns and outs of the loosely existing terrorist network, and how to keep in touch with it and gain resources and training from it.

It’s a patently bad idea to house often very youthful militants plucked off the battlefields of Afghanistan with mostly much older and more committed senior radicals only to turn around and release them in a relatively short period of time.

This quasi pseudo prisoner of war, criminal and unconstitutional status that violates the Geneva Conventions on Warfare status for these enemy combatants is half of the problem.

As our often indiscriminate areal and drone bombing of suspected insurgents and militants wracks up the body count of often non-combatant innocent men, women and children we are polarizing more people in the Islamic East against our policies and then literally giving the youngest and most energetic of the combatants a terrorist education at Guantanamo to go along with that and then releasing them back out to continue, broaden and lengthen the fight.

This is about as well as these prisoners are segregated!

While a lot of naïve and more trusting Americans defend the outcome of these bad policies at Gitmo as a unforeseen consequence how on earth could the CIA not have foreseen the consequences.

What do we pay these guys to do? Guess and walk around sticking their fingers in plums? Even after years of tracking the data and knowing from it that Gitmo functions as a Terrorist Training School as a result of it, they still haven’t changed the policies or the prisoner’s statuses to simply hold them properly as genuine prisoners of war indefinitely that should have access to the International Red Cross/Crescent monitoring the conditions of their captivity.

We clearly aren’t fighting the War on Terror to win it, we are fighting the War on Terror to perpetuate it and terrorism!

It's amazing how well they have developed the circumstances and environment through and from which people are transformed into willing participants/characters to play a supporting role in the OS. From abroad we hand pick those with the greatest potential of being sculpted into our future boogie men, to fuel fear to fuel an endless war.

Reminds me a lot of the israeli model. Brew hatred at your door step, egg on a hit, which in turn justifies the taking/robbery of more land and resources. No wonder, we have such a strong alliance with such an evil enterprise. It's as if we were woven from the same alpha-capitalist clothe... made by the same manufacture/brand... Elitist Greed Inc.
