Ok so firstly i'm not into porn movies, to put it simply I have no interest in watching another man put it in.

But me and some friends were having some beer and other stuff at a friend's newly bought house.

Then the guy played some porn on his massive TV. I was like ahh nooo.

But what I saw was sooooooooo violenttttttttt. I can't even describe to you what I saw, but it was legal as it was on DVD retail.

This type of sexual violence will only make more rapists I find, more people will rape because they will be aroused by this.

How many people do you think watch these movies and think "ahh man I was I was that guy... damn I need to try this" and such comments.

If you watched these things how can you NOT think it would only increase rape numbers?

You first need to understand what rape is, and judging from your post, I don't think you have a clear idea. Moreover, you need to understand correlation and causation and if people are predisposed to certain behaviors.

I Disagree ...

Both groups are therefore claiming that the more porn there is around then the more rape there will be. The only problem with this idea is that in recent decades the incidence of rape has dramatically declined. As the above chart shows, since the mainstreaming of porn into American lives in the early 70s, marked by the release of "Deep Throat", the incidence of rape per capita has declined by an astonishing 85%. Yes, this does include rape and attempted rape, homosexual and heterosexual. Something, clearly, fairly major has been going on in our society. It's also true that we've seen an explosion in the availability of pornography over this period, so perhaps the two points are linked, the availability of porn and the prevalence of rape?

More Porn means Less Rape

I dont know how many partners you've been with but I tell ya there are some freaky ones out there. Chocking, slapping, stepping one who wanted to be punched.... the list goes on.

Just because it looks strange or abusive to you doesnt mean it is.

Unless you're one of those "use government to force your POV on the world" types.

What goes on between consenting adults in nobodys business but there own.

Watching violent porn movies can no more "turn someone into" a rapist anymore than playing violent video games can "turn someone into" a murderer. If one has these tendencies to begin with, perhaps these mediums encourage or progress this...but I do not believe that anyone can become something they are not simply by watching violence, murder, etc.

If that were the case, why wouldn't more people be committing murder, raping people, etc? Some of the most popular dramas on TV -- Law and Order SVU, Soap Operas, etc....not to mention movies, all contain violence and murder and sexual crimes. With TiVO, people can watch these shows over and over again -- much like watching porn.

Lastly, rape has absolutely NOTHING to do with sex or sexual pleasure. It is solely about power.

Finally -- the worst of the worst so to speak are snuff films (I think that's what they are called), but I believe those are illegal.

In a debate you are supposed expand on what you think especially when you say that the other person doesn't know what they are talking about

consenting adults and rape are two opposite things right?

ahh porn
is there anything it can't do?
a lot of the internet owes its existence to porn (driving tech forward)and it lowers incidents of rape not to mention it teaches how to use condoms.

soon soccer moms will be having after school showings once they find out about the benefits!
remember the pole dancing thing and the belly dancing?

can't wait

I'm not sure if by watching a movie like that it would increase rape numbers but who knows? what I do know is that for the people who do things like that they have those horrible thoughts in their heads regardless of whether or not they watched a movie, but there will always be sum sicko psycho who will copy something seen in a movie.

As some others have stated it doesn't really turn into rape ( though I have found out their is something along the lines of rape play
). It's all just down to fetishes pretty much. At work I hear a lot of tales that can pretty much get to the level of what you have witnessed in the movie, to me it's nothing strange anymore, but certainly weird in itself ( at least when it hits my ears ).

Also, from what I've heard it's actually quite common I mean the guy isn't going to beat her like a punching bag, but will.."smack" just not hard enough to leave a bruise or anything. Never understood it in the past, won't now.

Of course they are. There is no consent in rape. That's why it's rape. I thought we were talking about some porn flick you saw and how you got all upset over it. Not trying to legitimize attacking another human being.

Rape and reporting rape are two totally different things.

Your graph shows that reporting of rapes is down, not that rapes are down. Which might actually be worse.

What your graph is likely showing is that the cultural context of rape is changing - that girls and young women are starting to think that sex by force is normal or just something to expect men and teenage boys to do and you just suck it up so that people won't get mad at you for being mean to him.

While a pornographic video may contribute a fantasy to a personal sexual identity, a rape fantasy in this case; it will remain just that unless the person already suffers an underlying mental defect.

The act of rape is not about sex - though rapists can only get off through the act, it is the violence of the act that makes it what it is. Rape fantasy is little more than rough sex in reality and is no worse than any other fantasy. It takes someone severely mentally damaged to enjoy sex with someone who really, REALLY doesn't want it.

Forgetting all the actual facts of the matter as well, rape appears more prevalent in more "regulated" societies. Since the facts go against your feelings of

This type of sexual violence will only make more rapists I find, more people will rape because they will be aroused by this.

I'll hve to say I disagree with you.

The Graph i showed you compares the statistics between the 1970's and the 2000's .. Look at the decrease .. its huge ...

The graph you have linked only show an increase between 2007 / 2008 ..

I don't know if it will effect the sexual identity of people who HAVE one already.

The problem is - will it effect the sexual identity of people who are too young to have one yet?

I do think that the ubiquitious amount of nasty porn that young boys and girls are seeing does impact their concept of normality. They have no concept of real relationships to fall back on, to judge it by.

Actually I think this provides an outlet for people who have these sorts of desires, in turn reducing the risk of them actually going out and doing it.

I use to watch porn as a kid, who didn't? And occasionally we still do in our bedroom for fun, not that hardcore ridiculously violent stuff as most of it makes my stomach turn, but I have no quams with people that do.

The west is so damn prudish, take a look at the porn industry in China or Japan, and you would be amazed at the kind of crap they do for fun.

And there are some people who actually genuinly like it that rough in the bedroom, I have met a few, and they are great people, just freaks behind closed doors.

Who I am I to judge what excites them sexually?

Ohh and as far as children watching porn, they will and they only think you can do is educate them on what they are seeing and try and prevent them from getting their hands on it. But any guy will tell you that in their teen years there was PLENTY of porn to go around, and we didn't have the internet then.

Education is key.

Porn is a conditioning tool to destroy the family.. What starts starts out as merely looking at naked ladies soon turns to worse and worse filth just like any addiction.. There is NO love in it... Just an animalistic act of self gratification bought to you by girls who have probably themselves been abused or conned because they are stupid, or on drugs... Thus making "normal" sex for you null invoid.. And WHICH the money thereoff ends up in the pockets of our enemies to buy bullets to kill our troops... Just an endless cycle of pain for the sake of a two minuet (being kind) knee trembler that leaves you more empty each time... You can stop the rot... Just imagine its your mom on the screen or your sister, and if that isnt enough to stop it then you are sick sick sick... Another tool of the NWO to make us loose, coz the family is the most potent force known to man, and if they can destroy that by weak mens addictions to pathetic one second knee tremblers.. Then we are screwed.... And THEY win...

Not at all.

There are subsets of rape.

There is the baseline definition of rape - sex taken by force, date rape - sex with an unconscious nonconsenting partner, statutory - sex with a minor.

Your OP mentions that the pornographic video was Violent: why would I even need to then comment on the less forceful subsets of rape?
