Really? feels like we are turning into the BBC here on ATS, encouraging people to send in their pictures of the snow and their clever snowmen.

Selahobed - in your photo album there should be a link to embed images. That will display the picture in the thread.....unless you already knew of course....

Guys...I hate to sound all frostier than thou...but that kind of snowfall wouldn't even get the kids a day off school!

It must come as a hell of a shock when you come visit us in the Colonies, and see what we call winter.

The following pic was Dec 11...about an hour north of me. Shows a cop trying to clear off their truck.

Now that's SNOW!!

Self edit to send along this bit of doggerel I found in my email this morning...

WINTER POEM

It's winter in Canada!
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty-five below.

Oh, how I love Canada
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave my Canada
I'm frozen to the friggin' ground!

OK,
I see where your coming from but your country is probably much better prepared than the UK. Bigger trucks to plough through the snow, dont know what kind if gritting system you have but its not like that here.....this small island comes to a halt when theres a bit of snow....

saying that, my generation saw this back in 77, 79 and one of the eighties....Its quite exciting for my kids who havent seen it like this yet....

Part of living in the Great White North. I'm sure your kids are loving it over there, but I understand how things grind to a halt when you're not prepared for the snow...or the cold. My best wishes to you all!
