China Blocks Iran Sanctions Over Its Nuclear Plans

www.irishtimes.com

CHINA HAS blocked western efforts to impose a fresh round of UN sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme, saying diplomatic efforts to stop Tehran building atomic weapons are ongoing.

Envoy Zhang Yesui laid out China’s case as his country took over the presidency of the Security Council and called for “time and patience” in dealings with Iran.

Tehran already has been hit with three rounds of sanctions for refusing to comply with demands that it halt sensitive nuclear activities and US president Barack Obama and other western powers want a fourth raft of sanctions to raise the p

China and Russia once again blocking the idea of further sanctions, but the main question is why?

Russia's obvious interest is the business they are getting from building the infrastructure for the Iranian nuclear programme, China's interest is less obvious, yes oil is a factor, but surely the failure of ngotiations concerning North Korea should have taught Bejing something atleast.

The further question, and possibly the queation being discussed somewhere at The Pentagon, and almost definatly in Israel, is where would China and Russia stand if a pre-emptive strike on Iranian facilities where executed?

I dont fully understand it yet, but here's the website

www.sectsco.org...

its a mutual security club, so Irans inclusion would suggest militarily, Iran would see China and Russia as allies, and vice versa.

....or perhaps China wants war?

Not sure if most of you are aware of this or not, but most of the rebuilding efforts ongoing in Afghanistan are being handled by the Chinese. Sure, American companies win the contracts - but the workers and materials come from China.

As for Russia, it seems clear they do not feel comfortable with a Nuclear Iran.

China could be the force in the shadows, it is quite shocking how well armed the Taliban are considering they have been under attack for what, 8 years now, Hitlers Germany didnt survive that long.

The advantages of a war would be all China and Russia, with the US and Nato forces so thinly spread, Taiwan would become a visable option again.

Just look back through history, all the big powers end up spread so thinly that they cant cover all eventualities, the US cannot carryout operations in Afganistan, Iran, keep an eye on North Korea and deal with the financial crisis that would obviously ensue

The whole problem here, is that the USA and Israel want to place sanctions on Iran for something that it is NOT DOING, by CIA, and UN own admission.

Iran is not building an Atomic Bomb.

And Nuclear Energy is VERY legal.

articles.latimes.com...

www.dailygotham.com...

It's not that the USA and Israel want to prevent Iran from having Nuclear weapons.

It's that USA and Israel want to prevent Iran from having NUCLEAR ENERGY

It's that USA and Israel want to take over Iran's National Bank (That is not connected with the Global Financial Institutions in the same way that the FRB is.)

The US is weak, and continues to weaken, and Israel is fearful of upsetting the more friendly Arab Nations by attacking Iran

Iran has the worlds 4th largest oil field in the world, along with untapped natural gas reserves. As a major player in the oil production and energy supplies. It has the technical know how for drawing out the oil and natural gas, so I would say it is about the oil. Both China and Russia gets a majority of oil and natural gas from Iran. So Iran can essentially put the squeeze on both countries to get some form of favor.

Russia has its own oil and gas, which it sells to Europe, but certainly i think an Iran/Russia/China alliance has alot of benefits for all parties.
