I was totally outraged that individual Americans such as these people are taking shots at Australians, calling them racist because of this advertisement. Firstly they don't even understand the game of cricket and are taking this way out of context here. These are not african people and are people from the west indies. They do get interested in a game of cricket like this and australians love chicken and KFC like any other normal person. KFC is one of the well known sponsors of cricket australia and compete well against other fast food restaurants.
I am brown skinned and not originally from Australia and I find really contradictory that people of colour are finding anyway to lay the next white person as a racist when they themselves take part in the same action.
I would love to hear from both Australians and Americans on this matter.

Also I would like to know what your thoughts on globalisation and media such as this being accessible to the entire world and not just one place. Should large corporations and companies such as this be looking at media at a global scale and consider the cultural and ethical problems throughout the world when releasing such advertisement as this?

I laughed at this because it was funny, it was funny because it promoted a sterotype that is wrong. I also laughed because I know and many of you also know that this was backhanded racism pure and simple. This wouldn't be shown in the Americas because of the continued racism and history of racism that was pushed in the US. Australia has issues to with race so I don't let them off the hook because "it was showing people loving chicken and getting along". No one here is naive and the people that where behind that ad aren't either. It's called nuances, the ability to read between the lines and whatever. All of us know how to do it, and reading between the line you know this was as stated before a backhanded attempted to say N****r without getting caught and seeing what a few people can get away with. You would think that Australian people would be conscious of this fact after their history up to present with different people.

There's a movie that many of you should see that came out in 1995 called White Man's Burden. It stared John Travolta and Harry Belafonte. It was a very good movie, but only made 4 million dollars in the US at the movie theater. You should watch it all the way through because the first 10 minutes will tell you why it didn't make alot of money in the US. Just watch it and think about, then you will know why people can be mad and conscious of racism.
