Hey this is my first op. I hope I have done it correctly so here we go....

ScienceDaily (Jan. 4, 2010) — New results from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and the Magellan telescopes suggest that a dense stellar remnant has been ripped apart by a black hole a thousand times as massive as the Sun.

www.sciencedaily.com...

The article says the event happened in a galaxy 65 million l.y. from earth, so I am not making a doomsday thread.

I am amazed by the universe and I have been since I was a child. I remember when the Hubble Space Telescope was launched (2nd grade). I remember how floored I was by the pictures that were sent back and how amazing they were, at the time I remember thinking this is the most advanced info that science will ever bring us, man was I wrong.

My query is if are able to have such amazing observations now, what will we discover in the future? Will we ever have a perfectly clear map of the universe? or will there always be speculation about what is "out there"?

Edit: I forgot the link
