The idea of racial profiling to such an intensity is scary. The idea of stripping, no pun intended, our civil rights away so quickly is even scarier yet.

I think this general is the first guy to speak sense in a long time. If this happens and you're a young Muslim male wanting to fly on a plane? too bad, suck it up, blame it on those terrorist idiots, not on people trying to protect themselves.

What about White Muslims, Asian Muslims, or any other different kind of Muslim. Also how do we go about determining what religion is which? Are we going to have to get ID cards now declaring our faith and the ones that don't say Muslim get walk right through. So are we going to become a free religious nation... except for Muslims? Quite frankly sounds like a horrible idea from a corrupt evil fossil trying to push more military industrial complex might down our throats.

Also why is it so in fashion to blow up a plane? Why can't a terrorist drive a city bus full of C4 into a building? If you people would actually think about these things, you'd realize how stupid they are.

Do like the Israelis, accept that *SNIP* going to happen, get the *SNIP* when it does, and keep living our life without the paranoia and fear mongering.

I mean honestly how often does a plane blow up? Yes it's tragic and horrible but it happens so rarely. Plus no matter what you do someone can figure out a way around it. By the way, have you been through Airport Security? You honestly think these people are going to stop a sinister evil genius plot? Trust if the flow of coc aine and heroin keeps getting in, I'm sure a motivated terrorist could find a way to do his evil deeds.

I say accept that *SNIP* is going to happen and move on.

Plus what's funny is a lot of you are crying and worrying about security and aren't alarmed that a connected military general and a prime member of TPTB basically just threatened us the people.

Honestly, the General has no idea what he is talking about. While there is clearly a threat from the Islamic Extremists who seek to force the rest of the world to convert to Islam, when the general suggest we profile for "Muslims," he illustrates his ignorance.

How exactly does one visually spot a, "Muslim?" Did he happen to specify the criteria to be used? I'm curious to know the criteria he would use to spot all of the muslims?

Except in this case the theoretical people would already be dead, having blown up a plane.

I have to fly on planes, and the full body scanners bother me a hell of a lot, I really resent the fact that I have to put up with that all because of some idiotic suicidal Muslims.

We have to face it, Muslims want to blow up planes and do all kinds of unreasonable stuff. It's about time we actually targetted the people who are the problem here instead of making the whole world suffer for the things they have done.

I'm totally against fascist measures that our governments are putting into effect because of the overinflated threat of terrosism, yes it's a relatively tiny threat compared to lung cancer. But this particular measure I support, purely because it is targetted AT THE CAUSE and not at people in general.

If you have a problem and you know who's causing it, you go after those people, thats all there is to it. You dont wait around and when they blow up a plane, you just shrug and say "oh well stuff happens"

No matter what the answer to the other questions, yes, it is definitely fear mongering.

Giving up freedoms we take for granted, ie not having to be strip searched when we haven't even been convicted of anything, is only helping terrorists win their supposed war against our liberties.

To me it seems the only people that really hate our freedoms and liberties are the government.

Well yes, if the US are implementing more efficient systems to catch terrorists, then they'll strike before they're in place, and that could be in the next 3 months. It's a reasonable analysis to say it's likely, but I doubt anyone is promising it will happen.
