Quakes showed across US again - has to be a glitch in the system?? I do believe you said it was the deep quakes that do this but this one wasn't deep.

AH HA !!
! thats the problem, and why you Americans are confused about this
That page is only a small selection of the Global Seismic Network.

This is the page that you should be using to see World quakes

aslwww.cr.usgs.gov...

lose the _us on the end of the address

The Tongan 6 is just coming on your page now. Last Update Wed Nov 3 17:05:00 MDT 2010

This one will likely be as big as that one now in the center, and will show globally. Most of the energy went north east (look at the link I posted), Samoa, Kiribati way stronger than to the south here SNZO Karori and to the west ChartersTowers

That's better - world quakes. I've been checking world quakes on RSOE which I know I shouldn't, right? So we can go with the Tonga quake being the culprit for the US show?

Oh, I thought you realised that. Yes the original was based on US helis and they were not looking at the world ones.

All laid out here for people

Not quite O Crazy One of the Daisy clan. The Tonga quake is only just beginning to show now. The earlier one that showed across the US recorders was the one in Papua New Guinea.

Na I must have zoomed past the actual seismograph page they were talking about (on that other thread)

Even the LISS is not really "Live" it goes in 30 minute updates.

The Canadians have really upgraded their web site since I first found them 4 years ago.
Check this out, REALLY LIVE seismo's
canada live network

Pick a station and then click on the mini seismo at the bottom of the page

Everyone should have those

Oh bummer - I was in the process of sending my reply to TA' new/gone thread - hit the reply button and got stuck in the waiting page - then poof - everything gone --- so - i just have to say for the record - if there were seismic instruments in my area - they would be picking up my laughing - LMFAO. But - you know - moon quakes are a new science - - oh goodie another area of quake activity to monitor. And it was the subject of the earthquake fact of the day today - which They (USGS) have removed and has been replace - wonder which one came first.
