So do you think that's it? Or is it a pre-curser?

Okay, it's early....up with sick child. Nothing left to do but speculate.

Yeah, thinking perhaps it was under 4.5 so not reported by USGS, so not that big.

Watching CI.SWS for S.Cali and IU.LCO for Chile as couldn't find any nearer working and not time to search stations (working).

Going off-line for about a week. I have to get some things done and once I get in here nothing gets done!!

I will still be monitoring Iceland and quakes, but I will not be participating unless something big happens, or someone needs 'enlightening' about Hekla and/or Katla (unless of course they do blow
)

See you folks in about 7 days time.

Thought I would see how this comes out.
NZ's Geonet doesn't do a very good map off their search page, so I converted the data to something clearer where you can see whats going on.
I did some charts too (inspired by PuterMan
) but can't post them yet as my laptop doesn't have screenshot capabilities off Excel files, I'll have to go to my Desktop ....... after breakfast

edi: I only did 3.0 + as there are too many > 3.0, makes the maps too cluttered, and also there is less chance the magnitudes will change much when the data is updated over the next few weeks by the scientists. Usually there are about 10-25 quakes per day of all magnitudes which are preliminary, then a few weeks later the figure jumps to 50-60 per day as more lower magnitudes come in.
3.0+ is just that, not 2.999+

I check in with USGS every other day or so and things don't look very comforting.

Is this much activity normal? I did a little research into the past and came across lots of large earthquakes - so it seems to be pretty normal.

Now, I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not.
