We get lots of information from different places for different agency's all over this great big rocking world - and - we post - to bring it to the folks that can not access this data readily. In addition, did you know that a number of these agency's rely on the public to pinpoint and report quakes? Yes, that is right - they rely on us.

On average the planet experiences a 6.0-6.9 quake every three days. The planet has an average of 1,300 5.0-5.9 quakes a year, that's over 4 each day! And those who are posting about 4.x quakes, you are really going to get tired of typing, as there are usually 13,000 of those a year!
