News Corp. Likely to Pull Fox From Time Warner Cable

www.bloomberg.com

Dec. 30 (Bloomberg) -- News Corp. said it’s not likely to reach an agreement with Time Warner Cable Inc. and expects to pull Fox broadcasting from the cable system when their deal expires tomorrow.

“We deeply regret that millions of Fox customers will be deprived of our programming,” Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey said today in a memo to employees. “We need to receive fair compensation from Time Warner Cable to go forward.”

Does this mean that only Time Warner Customers will be without?
I have DirectTV, so it seems like those not using TW will still see it.

Or am I missunderstanding?

You'll still get all the LEFT WING propaganda you can possibly stomach from the MSM from all the other channels.

Only the RIGHT WING neo-con propaganda will be missing with Fox gone.

Enjoy the mind numbing monotany.

That's bad news for Time Warner Cable Inc.
Fox News is #1.
Everyone will switch to Direct TV.
Fox News Gone = Steep decline in revenues and profits at Time Warner.

Sell Time Warner / Buy Direct TV!
Has the stock nosedived yet?

Maybe Ol Rupert should have asked for a 200% increase in royalties from Time Warner instead of a 400%?

Or you could, gee i dunno, think for yourself and apply the same lense of criticism that you use for the right wing on the left wing.

Thanks to capitalism you have a choice.
Direct TV or FiOS.
Lets keep an eye on the revenues and profits at TWC.
I punched up TWC on Google Finance.
The decline has already begun.
TWC is going down the drain. Sell now!
Buy Gold!

I'd say the problem is you think there's a difference between them.
two.

I have an obscure cable provider and Fox News shows no sign of disappearing from it. At least, not yet. Fox may be driving harder bargains with all of them, which they can conceivably do with their current ratings.

IMO Time Warner and Fox would both lose from a permanent divorce so probably they will reach some sort of agreement in the near future. Most likely a tempest in a teapot.

Fox = Right Wing
CNN = Left Wing
MSNBC = Supid
ABC/NBC/CBS = Pawns

I guess I am just going to have to count on the only good source of news left.

ESPN news!

It is an epic win for Time Warner. I doubt any consumer really cares about the financial tantrums of Fox. Anything we miss on tv we can catch at our convenience on Hulu or fancast. The internet exists whether they like it or not. Nobody is being deprived of the Simpsons.

The only thing Fox is doing is shooting itself in the foot.

Hmm.

They did this same sort of thing around a year back, I think. Certain cable companies (including mine) were going to stop carrying viacom channels for similar reasons, the cable companies wanted too much money or vice versa. There was a lot of commotion over the whole deal and at the end of it all the cable companies caved. They would simply lose too large a consumer base if they lost all of that programming.

I expect the same thing will happen here. Either Fox will be concerned about losing so many viewers, or the Time Warner will not want to lose their subscribers, and they will reach a compromise. Fox, regardless of what a joke it is as a news source, is a huge ratings source, second only to ESPN if I am correct. I would be surprised to this happen.

The shareholders of TWC will demand Fox News returned.
They may have to fire the CEO of Time Warner first.

Because that is how you prevent yourself from being deceived by people who claim to be on "your side".

I do try to stray away from the MSM, however when I do watch it, I watch Fox.
