Oh, so that's what it was!

I live in San Ysidro, so that's right smack next to the Mexican border (Tijuana).

Unlike the mysterious "boom and rattle" that happened, what, last week? This tremor felt very 'wave-like'

When you google earthquake, it says 3.5 1 hour ago baja California.

Aren't they common in that region?

Yep! I'm not too far from Algodones. I was born and raised in SOCA.

Just a little wavy earthquake. No major structures I'm aware of to sustain major damage or injure people.

Fairly common. Not too far from Yucca Valley.

Deepens on what fault. Established or new.

This was a 5.8 earthquake people. It swayed buildings in downtown San Diego. Yes earthquakes are common in this part of the country but this was a big one.

Yeah, I noticed it as it happened and did a quick check. first report was 3.5 near Hermosillo, now reported as 3.2.

No big. Wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't been looking at the right thing at the right time and noticed a wobble.

I'm in the beach cities in Southern California, about 120 miles north of San Diego, and I didn't feel a thing up here.

And it's raining here today, so the birds and animals are pretty much all hunkered down to stay out of the rain. My dog is usually a pretty good earthquake predictor, but no strange behavior from her today...so far anyway.
