In just two and a half days, we will be in a new decade. Since about 1987, we have been in a process called the Quickening.

In just twenty years, we went from an Industrial society fighting a Cold War, to a Digital society where all the world's elite worked together (though for what end?)

Though every generation sees itself as special, this era really IS special. Never has our quality of life been so good, our numbers so great, our lives so comfortable. At least not since the age of Atlantis.

Yet, you can feel doom in the air, most people seem to feel World War 3 is imminent, or if not that, ecological destruction. But nobody really seems to care.

The story of the modern age is coming to an end. Let's make the age after modernity a golden one!

I cant believe how quickly the last 10 years of gone. Just think when you were a kid, how you imagined 2010 to be? flying cars, hover boards, world peace? a more enlightened society?.Space exploration? We are not even visiting the moon, unless its to throw something at it. Its a shame we as a species havn't really moved on since the cave. we have bigger bats to kill each other with now I guess.
