Mousavi's nephew among dead in Iran clashes

news.bbc.co.uk

Iranian security forces have fired tear gas and warning shots amid clashes with protesters in Tehran, opposition members and reformist websites say.

The reported clashes came as the opposition called on people to take to the streets as the Shia Muslim festival of Ashura reached a climax.

People were chanting "Khamenei will be toppled", opposition sources said, a reference to Iran's Supreme Leader.

There have been days of sporadic protests in various cities across Iran.

Hundreds of police and security forces were said to have been deployed in Tehran ahead of Sunday's protests.

Apparently, things have heated up in Iran since the past few days. It seems like today, things have flared up a bit more, with rumors about the presence of not just the Basij militia, but also some Revolutionary Guard cadre on the streets of Tehran. One can only speculate about the authenticity of these reformist websites, but if we look at the Twitter accounts, there is a lot of activity and chaos in Tehran.
