Genepax developed it...will we drive it!?
It is a new fuel cell technology powered by water and emitting no co2.
Its similar to previous methods for hydrogen extraction, yet more advanced than existing systems because its requirements do not include extra catalysts - only water and air!
It is expected to also have a longer life because the system operates without the addition of corrosive addatives to catalyze hydrogen adaption from water - it thus provide no co2 output.
Currently, the system is developed at 300W, and it was initially planned for 500W.
Current price is near $18K, and if it goes into mass production, the price reduces to nearly $6K.
The future is itended to provide 1kw-class generation electric systems in both automobiles and residences.
all the above info was included in this link...go to contents on left, then to section #5, heading "Green construction & eco-friendly technologies.

also included is a youtube link to video...
the story differes here...

the channel provider has a different point of view
and sees obstacles to this vehicles deployment
the development occured in 2008, and apparently
other undesireable (for the people and planet) developments followed
channel attributes to oil companies...which really translates to greed...
then self-service...then separation.
more info on the video provides links
to stories about the developer
and also the Genepax company site
however, the link doesnt work (http 404)
unless we snip of the en/ at the end of the link
this will direct you to a welcome page of the Genepax
top is japanese, below in english
stating that obstacled faced in the current world...
(alluding to empires entrenched in explosive technology - oil)
...have necessitated the reassesment of resources and development plans
and closing of the website - yet they plan to continue.

for all who know the story of EV1 by GM, this is eriely reminiscent...
"who killed the electric car"

Google Video Link

the purpose here, and also the hope, is that companies, and persons, are still producing this technology, even in the face of global obstacles, and in the face of personal attack showing valor and doing the right thing for people and planet.

Big oil won't let this happen. Think of all the lost jobs and profit.

agreed, which is why it is not up to them to 'let' it happen
but to each of us in each choice, to 'Make' it happen...!

My two cars were made in 1976 and 1986 and German made.
I have adjusted by life-stlye to their operating costs and sitting on the sidelines waiting for this type of solution to be massed produced. Obviuosly, I'm a patient person. Most others are not and purchased SUV's and trucks with 8 mpg and little re-sale value on credit.
I will continue to drive only when necessary and save more money to take a big step into the future. I have done this before by getting-by with my 1991 cell phone until the iphone 3g came out this year.
You can do it!
