what is the significance of the colour green? and when did these stories begin?
is there some masonic meaning to it?

One reference to "the green door" is where top secret assignments in the Air Force are managed, and it is literary a green door too.

There is an old song from the 50's, I think, that was called "What's behind the green door?"

Interesting.

It is probably something related to world wars.

there is even a dodgy 80's song by "shaking Steven's" behind the green door
and about the military connection i have heard of that connection too.
I'm looking for maybe the 1st use of a green door and what was behind it and why other people choose to use this in film, song, real life IE military
and myth.

Depends on the answer your looking for. Here's one....

Within the American intelligence community, "green door" is a slang verb, meaning to restrict an individual's or organization's access to information and/or locations. "We green doored them."

PS.. I think this may be what you were looking for.

In Vegas, the Green Door is a social place... greendoorlasvegas.com... . Probably not much secret going on there.

As for the question at hand, doesn't green usually mean health and prosperity? Could it just be them using the color as a way to push us to feel better about whatever the green door is attached to?

some great answers there so its true it is a military slang term, i had heard such, but if you look at the wiki link ( the one on the right ) its green door galore!

green meaning health and prosperity now thats a new one i have not heard of.

thanks for the input, i might track down all the times the green door has been mentioned in whatever form and try to find a common link. ( might being the key word )

What brought you finally to ask that question? What was the reason you decided to open a thread? It must be connected to it.

Namaste,

Well, i 1st heard mention of facilities mainly military having doors leading here there and wherever and occasionally there would be mention of a special door that lead to a secret out of bounds place or one that required special clearance, and these doors are painted green, where all the other doors would be a different colour.

i think i heard mention of it in this forum on more than one occasion, and that is what lead me to start a thread on "the green door"

I'm curious to know of why pick green as the colour, sensfan did state the obvious that green is a prominent colour in the forces.

also the fact it's mentioned in song and film also.hope that helps.

As far as I am aware the "Green Door" refers to any type of ultra black op, meaning once you pass the "green door" you can not leave so to say..
