I'm sure we all remember the insane raving of those who thought G W Bush was the cause of every bad thing to occur here in the US, even going so far as to blame him for hurricane Katrina. While much of the criticism was justifiable, some folks just went WAY overboard to the point that a name was coined for their condition:

Urban Dictionary

Bush Derangement Syndrome

As first described by conservative columnist and Psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer, Bush Derangement Syndrome (or BDS) is a loss of the capability for rational thought. This loss is often displayed over a period of hours, days or even months and years. The sufferer in all cases blames President George W. Bush for any and all types of disasters, human maladies, etc. despite abundant evidence of contrary causal effects. BDS is also manifested in many sufferers by a determination to label President Bush as the greatest single threat to democracy and freedom in the United States since the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts during the presidency of John Adams.

Now that Bush has left office, BDS has passed away, mostly, but it seems to have been replaced by a new malady suffered by those of us on the right:

Urban Dictionary

Obama Derangement Syndrome

The acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the statements -- nay -- the very existence of Barack Obama.

I'll be the first to admit, I got ODS bad.

I don't think Obama is the Antichrist, I think he's the devil himself.

I believe he's hell bent on destroying everything this country has ever stood for. He's bankrupting this country at an unimaginable rate and stealing away our rights and freedoms as fast as he can ram his socialist policies through his Democrat controlled Congress.

He's the biggest liar ever to occupy the oval office, and that's saying something. Everything he says, he does the exact opposite.

If Obama was to say the sky is blue, I would have to look up to the sky just to check.

Twice.

Even then I might ask for a spectrum analysis before I could rest assured the sky truely WAS blue.

Is all of this just in my head? Have I become deranged by Obama paranoia?

How about all of you, how bad is your ODS?

I agree with everything you say with an exception to any insane raving.
It's all completely logical cause and effect. They do/did what they do'ed, and our brains have no other way to react. Calling it an illness doesn't make me or you crazy. Obama/Bush do that.

Yep its true. People blame the figurehead of a country for everything. Thats why they are who they are, and obama knows if someone is upset with america they will blame him as he is the current figurehead.

this is not insane as much as its just the system.

But if bush ordered people tortured, do those people not have a right to hate him and if obama does not stop that torture, do those people not have a right to hate him, for not stopping it.

If you become president, your the figurehead. Thats life, and you got your wish of being in that position.

Like the old saying

Becareful what you wish for, because you just might get it, lol.

Obama got, it, and now he knows whats it is like, to be the main figurehead, that is life.

But one thing, he is a real big liar. Al gore has that too about him. Bush was just rubbish at it, lol. But i think alot are thinking obama is just lying all the time now.

Hopefully Obama is Jesus II and this little world hippie commune he is forcing will actually be a good thing.

Oh Darn

Just got to force myself to think its just as likely as the other infinite possibilities I guess. . .

I caught the paranoiaattacks a while ago. At least after a while you can put tthem on the back burner a lot easier.

Could the same be said for sufferers of BDS?

Were they suffering because they bought into left wing propaganda?

Maybe the whole world is insane in rotation, we just take turns based upon who occupies the White House.

BDS was 100 percent justified ..

ODS is about 20 percent justified .. (not enough to act like an anti-Obama sheep)

There is really no such thing as ods or bds, its just the figurehead at the moment in time.

It has nothing to do with who the person is, its just that the system has that person there and thats why he is there. the system operates like this so the real people are not projected on, only the ones in public view.

Get over yourself with ods or bds. It will always be this way and its a fact of the system.

I think their is such a syndrome hahaha.

The amount of threads created on here just to bash Obama are pathetic.

Some of you might disagree with him, but the some of the things people come out with are ludicrous.

However it may be different looking in from the outside, as i'm not American.

What does a terrorist act like. i have not seen any person commiting terror in america.

You obama fan boys have to understand, that obama is just a front for others, and obama needs to get used to that to.

Democracy con, is what we have and thats the problem the leaders have to deal with.

Loads on the pretend left are hating obama too now, seeing as he has gone back on the pretence of his campaign.

If you are trolling...you got me.
I can understand current events causing these thoughts.

I do not suffer from Obama paranoia, but I can't say the same for gubment in general. The dude had the most challenging issues to deal with, been handed the keys to a Caddy thats out of gas if you will. Parked at the bottom of a hill in the desert. He has been in office about 11 months, and has impressed me all the way.

You know, things have been controlled by larger groups, both public and private for a long time. I just see the commander in chief as a face or frontman, a talking head if you will. I also don't think party affiliation has that much to do with what ends up happening.

Lobbyists' and Senators' power > Commander in Chief

Thing is, Obama just figured this out after he made a bunch of election promises that he can't keep. I see this as more ignorance on his part than being a lie.

The whole antichrist, satan, devil compairison makes you look bad. I think that is a rather silly thing to say. I guess if you are far right Christian, these are very popular views.

I'm betting you voted for Sarah Palin (the anti intellect)

I feel the need to help you get over this right now, so I had to be frank.

Your going to thank me for this bs, once you pull your head out of it! It's all what you make it.

Cheer up and have a very Merry Christmas dude!

I can't argue with you on the BDS issue, I have a mild case myself.

If you think there is little justification for ODS, where do you recommend I go for therapy? What sources would you reccomend to cure me of my paranoia?

Obama and the gang are just as corrupt as Bush and his gang.

Obama, Reid and Pelosi are no different than Bush, Frist and Hastert. It has nothing to do with any syndrome.

The problem is useful idiots in both thr Republican and Democrat party. When I pointed out the corruption of Bush the republicans came to his defense. Now when you do this with Obama, the blind followers of the democrat party come to his defense.

So agasin it's not a syndrome, it's just you always have independents that point out the corruption in both parties and you also have the kool-aid drinkers from the republican and democrat party who will defend and oppose policies based on an R or a D next to the name.

Thanks for your reply SLaPPiE.

I'm just trying to figure out if my aversion to everything Obama is justified or just an irrational responce. Trying to determine if he's really that bad or am I just reacting to having a D in office.

You make a good point about Obama inheriting a Caddy that's run out of gas. He might just be a victim of circumstance.

You other posters have a great point, Obama, or whoever occupies the White House are just figureheads put in front of us to despise for the actions of TPTB.

They want us to hate them to distract our attention away from who is REALLY pulling the strings.

This is why I suffer from ODS: (God let it be true)

VERY QUIETLY OBAMA'S CITIZENSHIP CASE REACHES THE SUPREME COURT

AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obama's qualifications for the presidency, the group "Americans for Freedom of Information" has Released copies of President Obama's college transcripts from Occidental College . Released today, the transcript school indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the
Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obama's detractors have been seeking. Along with the evidence that he was first born in Kenya and there is no record of him ever applying for US citizenship, this is looking pretty grim. The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obama's legitimacy and qualification to serve as President. When reached for comment in London , where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Britain 's Daily Mail has also carried the story in a front-page article titled, "Obama Eligibility Questioned," leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obama's first official visit to the U.K. In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups,

Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments concerning Obama's legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey . This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrio's case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obama's citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obama's campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

FWIW... I had similar feelings about Bush, but started seeing that he was used as the puppet man. Not his fathers wars, but our forefathers wars. Right then, I became more concerned with the govorning group as a whole, rather than "Face"man himself.

Things are a mess all over the globe right now. We just have to speak out for what we want and need in a positive way. We will be heard more clearly through request, rather than going down that dark path of hatin'.

I hope to resolve my differences with mankind soon. I'm trying pretty hard to understand the differences in us all, so that I can automatically accept that your views may be correct (mine wrong), even if I can't agree with you right off the bat. We are all very different, but we all have our strong and weak points.

Many here are suffering from ODS, indeed. But I Know How They Feel, for I suffered from BDS (and still have after effects) for several years.

Thing is, the way I felt about Bush was, in large part, because of things he actually did. These days, people suffering from ODS are pretty much basing their ideas on fantasy, lies, stuff that isn't happening and religious fanaticism. In my opinion, it's irrational and even paranoid. Interesting to watch, though.
