This is one those embarrassing moment when a company as big as HP releases a face recognition camera without doing proper QA! Either hardware issue or software, either way it doesn't like black people?!

www.liveleak.com...

This is awkward. It appears that HP's new webcams, which have facial-tracking software, can't recognize black faces, as evidenced in the above video. HP has responded: "We are working with our partners to learn more. The technology we use is built on standard algorithms that measure the difference in intensity of contrast between the eyes and the upper cheek and nose. We believe that the camera might have difficulty "seeing" contrast in conditions where there is insufficient foreground lighting.

Edit: Didn't know ATS folks don't have sense of humor! PEOPLE lighten up a little! Yes.. technical problem, have laugh, it won't kill you! I promise

I am curious did you read the part where they said poor lighting on the consumers part had something to do with it? Also If I read this article earlier and just this one black DUD had a problem with it.

But of course its just easier to do a you tube video saying someones rascist.

Awful quick to call racism there don't you think? Perhaps a little research on your part is in order.

Sheesh!

Hey.. I'm just saying what the dude says on the camera! Lighten up a little... it's obviously a QA issue with the product!
