Been there, done that, it's sleep apnea. It takes a little doing, but it can be beaten with concentration and mental discipline (which I have done).
What is needing is the loss of thinking 'supernatural', and thinking, 'sleeping problem, it can be beat'. Also, changing out the mattress or
sleeping arrangements makes a load of good as well. When I have an episode, I go to the couch and go back to sleep. I'd change out the mattress, but
money's tight.
