... And will WE be footing the bill for the USA branch?

Of course.

We have been doing that since 1949 or whenever it was that we signed up to Interpol.

Who else?

The data streams are what Interpol is about. But big words and anything more than a few paragraphs of legalese makes the hillbillies get nervous and immediately assume the worst. meh, let the hillbillies be the cowering ignoramuses they tend to be
'

No one here is cowering or suffering from an inability to comprehend words. But when laws are written in a manner that is not obvious as to their intent and or their implications, then they are rightfully a cause for some concern.

“It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood.”
-James Madison

Madison, what a hillbilly, what a cowering ignoramus he and those of his ilk must have been.

Being a non-Christian and unashamedly liberal on many social issues, I used to laugh at the rednecks and their "God, guns and guts made this country great" mentality. After reading up on the Founding Fathers a bit, I see that I was simply being arrogant and stereotyping those who I considered my political opposite. It's little wonder to me now that TPTB want the left and right wings despising each other.

Isn't it interesting that the Founding Fathers of this country, who were intelligent enough to write the constitution for us and lead a ragtag army into battle against the most powerful nation on Earth and win, considered the most serious threat to this country to be an internal one?

“If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy” - James Madison

"The truth is that all men having power should be mistrusted" - James Madison

I could post many quotes from this country's Founding Fathers that warned us about the inherent tendency of any government to become corrupt and turn on it's own people. The passage of time has done nothing to invalidate their warnings.

Maybe this EO is harmless, I tend to think that it is, but then again, maybe it isn't it. I don't know the whole story behind this EO. Had Obama conducted himself in a manner congruent with his party platform and his campaign speeches, I personally wouldn't be as suspicious of him as I now am.

When the govt reps stops listening to the people who elected them to power, then the potential for tyranny inherent within our government, the tyranny that our Founding Fathers warned us about, is starting to materialize before us. The questions are how far will it go and at what point do we say, in a loud unified voice, that it's unacceptable.

Thank God for the second amendment.

I used to get hung up on that 2nd amendment question you sometimes hear, what did the FF mean by "a well regulated militia"? Is the second amendment really an absolute?

I've been reading up on what the Founding Fathers had to say about the R2KBA lately.

The Founding Fathers, without a doubt, wanted the citizens of this country to be armed enough to be able to defend themselves from our own govt, should it ever become necessary to do so.

We can never, ever, under any circumstances, give up our guns.

Should any of us ever find ourselves confused on the issue, if ever we are in doubt about whether or not the amount of oppression from the govt is severe enough to justify a violent retaking of our govt...just remember this.

As Americans and as people of good will, we can certainly disagree about whether or not things are bad enough to march over, demonstrate, or fight over.

But if the govt should ever state that we are to surrender our firearms, then let there be no doubt, war will have been declared against the American people. Handing over our guns will insure that we will go from being free citizens from whom the power of govt originates, to mere subjects, slaves, property of a despotic regime.

Hopefully, we will never see that day.

Can someone honestly explain to me what the big deal is? The International Organizations Immunities Act gave international organizations complete immunity in the U.S. from 1945-1995. Now Obama is just reversing Clinton's amendment.

It was Reagan that issued the EO that Obama is reversing.

The Reagan White House was not one to favor international cooperation about anything. They were positively hostile to the UN.

Interpol is an info gathering and coordinating org to facilitate sharing of info on global criminal activity. The huge issue here is why the previous "in place" limitations are being covertly modified by EO now.....So many possibilities, so little time...

U.S. placed under international police-state
December 26, 3:49 PM Columbia Conservative Examiner Anthony G. Martin

In the dead of night on December 17, 2009, President Barack Hussein Obama placed the United States of America under the authority of the international police organization known as INTERPOL, granting the organization full immunity to operate within the United States.

(AP Photo/Peter Dejong).

According to Threatswatch:

Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order "Amending Executive Order 12425." It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other "International Organizations" as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.
By removing language from President Reagan's 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates - now operates - on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

What, exactly does this mean? It means that INTERPOL now has the full authority to conduct investigations and other law enforcement activities on U.S. soil, with full immunity from U.S. laws such as the Freedom of Information Act and with complete independence from oversight from the FBI.

In short, a global law enforcement entity now has full law-enforcement authority in the U.S. without any check on its power afforded by U.S. law and U.S. law enforcement agencies.

A bit of background is in order here, and Hot Air provides it:

During his presidency, Ronald Reagan granted the global police agency Interpol the status of diplomatic personnel in order to engage more constructively on international law enforcement. In Executive Order 12425, Reagan made two exceptions to that status. The first had to do with taxation, but the second was to make sure that Interpol had the same accountability for its actions as American law enforcement — namely, they had to produce records when demanded by courts and could not have immunity for their actions.
Barack Obama unexpectedly revoked those exceptions in a change to EO 12425 last (week)...

Thus, Interpol now can conduct its operations on U.S. soil with ZERO accountability to anyone in this country.

And you beginning to understand now just what the 'end game' is on the part of those who are currently running the U.S. Government?

Let's go a step further in fleshing out exactly what this means in practical terms. It gets ugly...and scary. Again, from ThreatsWatch:

Section 2c of the United States International Organizations Immunities Act is the crucial piece.

Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable. (Emphasis added.)

Inviolable archives means INTERPOL records are beyond US citizens' Freedom of Information Act requests and from American legal or investigative discovery ("unless such immunity be expressly waived.")
Property and assets being immune from search and confiscation means precisely that. Wherever they may be in the United States. This could conceivably include human assets - Americans arrested on our soil by INTERPOL officers.

Why would INTERPOL be arresting American citizens on our own soil, without oversight from our own law enforcement agencies? And remember, citizens who are thusly arrested would have no legal authority to demand full documentation from the International Police concerning the charges brought against them.

Andy McCarthy at National Review asks these crucial, sobering questions of the secretive Obama order:

"Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize?"

At least one answer to these questions is very clear. A coup is underway in the United States of America, the goal of which is to establish complete, unquestioned authority over the citizens--a 'fundamental change' to the United States where citizens have no legal recourse against an authoritarian central government.
