What's the difference? America keeps tabs on all sorts of people it is not legally entitled to have the data for.

This is one way of keeping America's homegrown terrorists under an eye that can't be avoided so easily as that which has been thoroughly infiltrated already.

America is out of control, has damaged the world economy and has a war machine that must be kept in check before some fascist arises in her her halls of power and takes it farther than w did.

It's necessary to do these sorts of things to a country that has demonstrated it's recklessness and wanton love affair with war.

It's also a way of dealing with the CIA and FBI who are tainted and corrupted.

It's a good move!

Nobody cares about how many shotguns the paranoid hillbillies have. You are not the point.

Interpol doesn't keep a force of police.

It's boots on the ground members when they do need manpower are drawn from around the world and they are used to connect data and intel for police forces.

So, interpol in the US would use US police. The data streams are what Interpol is about. But big words and anything more than a few paragraphs of legalese makes the hillbillies get nervous and immediately assume the worst.

meh, let the hillbillies be the cowering ignoramuses they tend to be.

OK, I'm replying to myself here, dig?

Checked it out a little more carefully and I misunderstood what was happening. It just looks to me like it is just 'normalizing' the relationship with Interpol.

American police forces have those immunities, else they wouldn't be able to pursue investigations. Before this change, Interpol would basically not be able to co-operate with American Police services to investigate international child porn, money laundering, drug cartels, terrorism, etc, because their related materials were subject to search and seizure. Other countries aren't going to share their intelligence with the US if it is going to be subject to exposure in the National Inquirer or something.

Interpol is NOT 'Euro Police' operating in America. Each member nation maintains a liaison office in their country, the purpose of which is to facilitate the investigation of international crime. The US office is part of the Department of Justice, nothing to do with Europeans.

I see nothing nefarious going on here.

I expect there are a lot of foreign organizations that should be open to scrutiny by the annulment of that clause, but INTERPOL is one that should be protected.

Isn't this an illegal use of the EO privilege? This seems like a set of policies which would fall under International Treaty Law, yet another example of an area reserved for the legislature which the executive is intruding on.

EO's cannot be used for matters which fall under the powers of the other branches of government. Too bad no one in the Senate or Congress will stand up and do something about it.

Not at all.

Executive Orders are administrative policies that implement actions that the President has had authority granted to do by the Congress.

Congress has approved a treaty making the US a member nation of Interpol. The President is obligated by the law approving that treaty to maintain the American Interpol Liaison Office and to administer the relationship with the other member nation's liaison offices.

If anything, Regan's original order was the illegal use of the EO since it overrode Congress' explicit instructions on how America manages its relationship with Foreign Organizations and made it difficult for other countries to share intelligence with the US.

At first I wondered how Interpol could ever be effective inside the US since they would need a huge number of enforcement personnel. But the more I read into this, the more it seems that Interpol would "deputize" (for lack of a better word) police forces within the US, and they would become the enforcement body, while Interpol itself would direct, thus preserving their immunity. Police forces are subject to oversight, but Interpol would not be. Therefore any people (suspects) or data (evidence) turned over to Interpol would be beyond the protection of the US Constitution.

Is this correct?

The sooner you guys accept that Obama is NOT the decision maker, the sooner we can see who really is! Obama, Bush, etc.. are all spineless face to media, they are NOTHING other then illusion of power! They are simply puppets... to really understand what's happening to our world we need to put our glasses on and see the true evil behind the scene!

of course thats why we made the constitution, but now the government is abusing that power and being UNCONSTITUTIONAL which means (if you didnt know already) that they are going against our constitution which is why we are against their choices.

and all this is coming from a "president" that wasn't supposed to be one to begin with. our nation is falling slowly but surely on the video above it says that we allow our government to control us its true some of us are very stupid i don't mean to insult anyone but its time to wake up! all we do here is talk and say what we think but do we ever really stand up and do something about it. I mean why did obama get the Nobel prize ? and why is he president when he is not even a natural born citizen ? there are so many reason and questions but once again half of our nation still sleep.. and some of them are so deep that all they do now is sleep walk and no matter how many times you expose the truth they will still believe the government its sad but true and only the few can stand up and overcome this evil.

Nimrod changed governance into tyranny because there seemed to be no other way of turning men from the fear of an invisible god other than to bring them into constant dependence on his power.

ever see 500 million red nacks with guns back by us army navy an air force

It's closer to 350 million, if you count all of the Undocumented Illegal Immigrants that are in my country stealing all of the jobs that are left, and I would love to see every single citizen that lives in this country that is not in the congress or the senate stand up and just start heading for Washington,DC right now and give the lying basturds in congress and the senate the biggest Christmas present they wish they never received!

The day it happens is the day Lady Liberty will smile again. And so will I!

" The generation of WWII was great, they saved the world from Adolf. What the idiots that think they are running this country keep forgetting is that they have children and grandchildren. And when it is time, they will be reminded! "

As for me, I am getting stiff sitting at this computer posting on this channel. I am ready.

Generals and Commanders, when your ready sound the alarm. We are all ready.

truthoflies...not really sure what you are getting at but...we are on the same side.

I would like to put this out there for all of the good folks here at ATS and see what comes of it. I get a kick out of seeing how people will just come on here to bash a person before they even understand the underlying situation.

Dr. Wayne Dyer said that the definition of absolute ignorance was making a decision and taking a stance on a subject one has not researched.

I really think that holds true in this case so let me expand.

There are people here that are fairly young, never been in the military, have only read about history and never lived it (yet) and they come on here and feel as if they are experts because they are able to type characters on a keyboard. What is amazing is how derelict our society has become and you can see that just on these boards. Look at the number of posts in this forum that bash the person posting, barely refer to the subject the OP made and on top of that, can't even spell very well while they are trying to make an intelligent point on the post.
This is the very thing wrong with our society at the moment. We have a person, serving as a so called "president," that talks about "transparency" yet withholds all information about his background, his past and his latest decisions in regard to the agenda for this country.

Some of us older folks have a word for that...it's called "BALD FACED LIAR". The man is a 3 card monty dealer and we are all gonna get screwed in the end, as well as right now.

Let's look at the facts and see what we can derive from them. Let's start by giving a definition to words. Some are below.........

Audacity, a-das'i-ti, n. Daring; reprehensible boldness; impudence.

1. That would be driving to a Green Peace demonstration, in your fuel burning automobile, with paper bumper stickers on the back, while holding a paper sign that you filled out with indelible ink.

2. That would be celebrating xmas while driving around with your "support the troops" sticker on your auto that uses the very oil that the troops are there for...... Or thinking the Taliban is in whatever country they name.

3. That would be displaying bumper stickers (paper) that talk about saving the Amazon ...and...wrapping cheap chinese made plastic xmas presents with paper and putting them in cardboard boxes. Then you use a petroleum based tape to seal it shut.

4. Doing the exact same things as another country did 60 years ago and thinking the results will be different.. (Germany..Hitler) Do not even comment unless you know your history with a fine tooth comb.

5. Standing behind a government because it is the "IN" thing to do, never even understanding what the administrations policies are before voting or supporting a war.

6. Acting as if you know what is best for an entire country by declaring war against a country that has done nothing to our shores. On top of that, you declare war and spend millions and you have never even been in the service or held a weapon.

7. Fly to Hawaii for xmas vacation on the taxpayers dollar, all the while waiting for the senate to pass a bill that may be illegal, for MY health...

8. Actually "justifying" any war in history or now because of your "god".

Stupid, stu'pid, a. Struck senseless; foolish; dull in intellect; nonsensical.

1. Listening to anything that this president is telling you and convincing yourself it is truth.

The revolution begins with or without you. You can sit by and be complacent or you can do something other that bitch about it. You have a choice. You are either with us or you are for them. Take your pick..Either way, there will be "change" coming to your doorstep very soon.

I served in the usmc 78-82 as a machinegunner. I would refuse to fire if I was put in the situation we have now with a Commander in Chief that refuses to even give adequate info as to his background.

The man is a pigeon , stool, puppet, imbecile and a liar.......These same words have been said about many leaders and yet we only read them now in what we call "HISTORY".

Wake up folks. The ONLY war you should be even remotely concerned with is the one about to happen in YOUR country, state, city, neighborhood.....funded and payed for by.........YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are very quick to defend them makes me wonder just a little bit. Did it ever cross your narrow mind that maybe just maybe they could be used in ways maybe we don't even see yet. I personally think it is a way to collect info on dissent and keep it from view. Maybe I am wrong but at the end of the day if you give them the rope eventually they will hang you with it. And its almost like you are talking down from your ivory tower the sad thing about living in the ivory tower is their is very little room for anyone's views but your own. Its funny because either you have blind faith in a large foreign police force or you are in on it to some degree.

Mostly, no.

Interpol is a coordinating agency. If a Police agency in one country has an investigation that crosses national borders, Interpol coordinates the liason with the second country's Police agency.

But Interpol has, by international treaty, been given some primary responsibility for investigating some forms of internationally recognized crimes, such as terrorism, child pornography, drug trafficking, people smuggling, etc. So they provide intelligence to law enforcement in member countries.

But they don't 'deputize' local law enforcement to get the job done, because the local law enforcement already has the jurisdiction. Interpol doesn't make arrests or prosecute. Interpol provides intelligence and coordinates between the various police forces.

If there is an international child porn ring under investigation, it wouldn't work too well for, say Italy to jump the gun and arrest the bastards in Italy before everybody else in the USA, Britain, and Brazil were ready to arrest their bastards because they would all just go to ground. Each jurisdiction has its own requirements for levels of proof and you want to make sure you get everyone, not just the first ones that are 'ripe'.

Jimmy - INTERPOL would become a "police force" within our own borders that "could not be challenged" PERIOD

Excuse me INTERPOL just became...

on that point i only beg to differ: The bullet and the molotov challenge all.
I constantly find myself telling people the same thing over and over on this board, that it's hard for international goons to 'force' you into anything if there's a hole in thier vitals and they're on fire.
