Here's a theory for you, if you have read my friends theories on fighter jets and the bermuda triangle here is another theory from him.

Well today he asked me isn't it strange, uno... the northern lights how they flash? I replied yes. He went on and said couldn't the northern lights be a landing signal for UFO's. As there has been rumors that there is an antartic goverment base which could be near the northern lights and that that is a landing beacon.

What do you think, could my friends theory be true?

Well that theory woul dbe untrue for a couple of reasons.

1. The northern lights occur in the northern hemisphere, Antarctica is in the southern hemisphere. We have Aurora Australia down here.

2. They are a natural phenomenen caused by an influx of solar disturbances on the magnetic poles.

So, no, they are not alien landing signals

The aurora borealis is caused by magic toadstools and wizard farts.

They are caused by solar disturbances. the particles from the disturbances scrape against the atmosphere, and voila, auroras.
