Obviously you haven't bothered to read the Constitution! Congress has the right to regulate INTER-STATE COMMERCE - NOT commerce! That is commerce BETWEEN and AMONG the states, not WITHIN the states.

I am a very strong supporter of Universal Healthcare and I am a Republican. I sent this letter to my senators, Mr. Bill Nelson and Mr. George LeMieux. So now they have been warned if they vote for this autrocity that they will be breaking the highest law in the nation.

Why should I google insurance companies??? What does that have to do with forcing through a bill that they have no legal authority to pass or enforce? Seems you're having some difficulty staying on topic and backing up your utter crap responses! God forbid that our kids can now expect to be cared for in the event that they get hurt. Damn man I really liked the good old days when a kid could crash and get left hanging if they were not insured. What has the world come to? My father in law just found out he has cancer, thank god they didn’t pass they health care stuff yet!

If nothing else the health care stuff is a guarantee that if you or any of your family is hurt then they will be cared for. Yeah it’s a socialist program, but what would America really be without the social services. I imagine you would see large portions of the populous living in the dirt for lack of a better word. Maybe tent cities all over the place. Why exactly would you deny us Medical Care?

The social services have made this country what it is today, and have helped to cement a standard of living which we are very accustom to. God Speed on health care reform!

they could have allowed the current health care providers to compete across state lines so they could use the interstate commerce regulation, but if they allowed them to compete the rates would have probably dropped and would have given the government no reason to intervene.

With ever increasing numbers of posts like this one, ATS is fast becoming more and more like a chain email that circulates among senior citizens and church groups. Not only is this a legal stretch of the imagination, it is clearly just spewing desperate right wing talking points.

Benjamin Franklin was right "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

Legislators violate the constitution everyday of the year in just about every bill that is written so I really don't see how this argument works, even though it is a good argument.
