Good point, Lady ...

I'm almost at that stage myself with some of the posters I've been dealing with recently that I feel that I simply want to tell them to pull their heads in and stop being such complete $%%#^& and &#%^@ and for them to *#%^^# up their &#%^#@ and spin on it !!!

The satisfaction could be well worth losing those hard-earned points.

But of course, I'm completely above such childish and immature behaviour !!

In nearly two years on ATS I have come to learn to simply ignore such posters, as responding to trolls and truly ignorant people only feeds the fire and wastes your time.

1. Buy an executive class ticket to Hawaii. Or

2. Exchange those points for a free gift and a lifelong membership to Dominoes.
(Free Pizzas for life isn't a bad deal after all!
) Or

3. Wait for a few more points and you could pay for a trip to the ISS aboard the Soyuz. Maybe even the Shuttle! Or

4. A little more and you could even buy the Neverland Ranch!

Forget about them. Then when you want something, they'll be there. I have over 800K points. It's not like they're burning a hole in my pocket.
When I want a new background color or title, they're there.

Save them and let them build, some members see them as a "respect level", thus if you have a lot of points you may be more likely to be listened to.

That's total BS.
I have lots of points and nothing to do with them.

Do you have any more respect for me than an other member ?
No.......

The point system lost it's value as the boards evolved over time.
I'm no better because I have more applause.
I'm no better because I have more posts.

Just do your thing on ATS and don't worry about the members that keep track of such things.

Never sweat the small stuff...........

My previous post was kinda tongue in cheek (a bit of a joke) but I do agree with you... I do my best to ignore those types of posts as well. Sometimes it doesn't work, but most of the time it does. Cheers

I suggest they implement a form of digital poker so we can at least use the points for something!

I believe there are toasters and coffee makers available? You might want to stop and ask yourself why you are being enticed by ATS or given some kind of a point incentive or coveting such a thing.

Ooooooooo betting! Yes they should implement such things! It would be fun to award each other or place bets using harmless points!

LOTTERY !!!!

Any member can buy in for 100 points any given week.
Then a draw on Saturday night and the winner takes it all.

Or some on going games that points can be a bid.......
Legally it's a wash because points have no monetary value, no gambling law is broken.

How about it Mods, can we place some bets with our points ???

Yeah, but the "Godlike Wisdom" That's not small stuff!!! That's "Godlike"
for Christ sake. When I see someone with "Godlike" wisdom, I tend to build small religious icons of them and put them in a shrine I crafted from an old Domino's Pizza box.

BTW anxietydisorder, I do respect you more than a lot of members and points has nothing to do with it.

Betting would be fun, like making bets on certain events in the future, who will go to war with who, etc. It could be an open betting system, and as more people put there money in, you could get a larger sum. There would have to be mods to be the unbiased ones to determine the winner.

If mods take part, they can't be responsible for that certain bet.

It sounds fun!

as a socialist i believe we should all distribute the points out equally between the members

Name one society that flourished under a communist ideology.
Social democracies have worked, but not for long periods. Eventually the rich get richer, and the middle class is lost as they get eaten away by the wealthy.
Of course the poor continue to lose ground and end up in jails financed by the rich.

I'd be willing to contribute to a point fund for the point poor, but a lottery or betting system would make it a voluntary tax.

Take your red ass back to whatever commie place you came from.

EDIT: Forgot the bbcode for red.........

The points are a conspiracy.
They are here, to motivate you to makes more posts, therefore giving the govt an idea of just how much knowledge we have about top secret subjects. Then, when you have all of these points you realize they are useless.....nut now "they" know everything.

Not really.

Well, you could always go crazy Broadway style...

May the gods of ATS forbid the day when ATS points have any actual value... For that will be the day the liberals move in and tax those points to pay for much needed internet reforms and of course redistribution of wealth.

I'm in for package #4.

I can spare the 150 points and the few quid to sit on a hill with good company and a bit of food. Oh hell, I'll even bring some beer.
