i always thought the industry used new york since it has the highest population (for a city) out of the states, and is known around the world.

sort of a mass appeal thing.

"In a time when the world is at unease, a small terrorist network is planning their next big example of destruction. Just outside of Rochester, MN a plot is hatching to......"

NYC just plays a little better, especially in worldwide release.

However I wanted to point out that your first example was a Will Smith movie, ..... and pre 9/11 he came out with a movie called " Enemy of The State" with Gene Hackman, .... anyway, in the movie he has to punch in a code, and the director made it a special point to show it up close and make it stand out, .....

I liked 'I am Legend' quite a bit. The movie partially convinced me to get a German Shepherd Dog. She's a great dog--thanks the powers that be!

New movies use masonic/occult symbolism because of the Dan Brown effect. If the DaVinci Code had never come out I don't think you would see as much of it. (I thought the book sucked so I personally don't know why you see any of it).

But nevertheless, people dig symbolic numbers etc because it lets them see connections and meaning where there is none, even if it is subconcious.

I think the disaster movies target New York because it is the city that the most English-speaking audience can identify with. If we were shooting a Chinese movie I'm sure it would be Bejing or Shinghai. Spanish movie- Mexico City or Denver. Arabic movie- Baghdad or Dearborn.

In my opinion there is no false-flag connection, other than the fact that a city like New York would be an obvious target for a false-flag attack.

You should read the book. The movie skipped over the entire concept the author was trying to convey.

And German Shepards are great. I have two- Marx and Engels. Funny I named them back in college, before I started paying taxes and such and discovered what a horrible idea socialism is. They speak German though!

I don't know about the movies, but holding a trail there sure sets up rational for something big to happen there.

Hey, remember on 9-11, when building 7 was on fire at 920 in the morning, and people heard bombs going off, and that big x in the ground,the fire fighters were talking about that probably came from bombs in the basement or something.

do you remember when those two trucks with israeli agents were pulled over, and their G.O.D. moving vans tested positive for explosives, and then they were deported.

They were pulled over on the bridge, one going in, and one going out.

Maybe that's what all the symbolism is about.
I mean if those G.O.D. moving vans had had explosives in them then the bridge would look like that.

We get a global pandemic of some kind usually around once or twice per century so fiction based on pandemic outbreaks is, well - to be expected is the best way I can put it.

Terrorism is based on a certain set of well used tactics and a growing set of "improvised warfare" incidents such as 9/11. There are basic characteristics involved in such incidents which will involve certain commonalities -

Since the goal of the terrorists is to create as much fear and as many casualties as possible using limited resources the incidents have usually involved large cities where the pool of victims is higher and more closely spaced, mass transit, office buildings, restaurants, shopping malls and so on.

The most effective methods use explosives, either traditional or improvised.

We have a proven history of past incidents and planned future ones using chemical, biological and radioactive agents which can create even more casualties and fear.

I know Alex Jones and a few others started this popular belief that media is used to "pre-sell" the public on false flag events but if you think about it the potential pool of methods and locations is somewhat limited. Any book, movie or TV show using terrorism as the subject will be pulling from that same limited set of potentials. While the odds are that future acts of terrorism will be found to match a past work of fiction I have yet to see any convincing proof pointing towards a conspiracy.

(An insider passing "ideas" on to screen writers is not what I consider to be a "conspiracy").

I've always found the possibility of real terrorists performing real acts of terror "enabled" by the political power structures to be far more realistic than a full blown "false flag" scenario.

I've noticed that in the movies we often see the Eiffel Tower getting destroyed in some form. When the destruction is in America, it's usually the Statue of Liberty that goes down first, I think its just due to them being more iconic than anything.

I don't really understand the desensitization you claim, I guess I am desensitized enough that anything that happens in movies wouldn't shock me.. but it would be entirely different in a real life scenario. But maybe that wasn't what you meant.

When you are talking about the occult symbols, do you mean obvious use like in Angels & Demons, National Treasure, etc. or subtle/subliminal images appearing unrelated to the movie? I'm really interested in seeing some examples of it.

Nah, those are all just for deflection. I think the next false flag will be in Vancouver, Canada during the 2010 Olympics.
