JFK was 'removed' a long time ago. Why not Lincoln? I think it will all happen rather quickly. And I think 'the image of the beast' set up in the temple will be like the Disneyland figure, done the same way.

This is not accurate. The Bible states 'if it were possible, even the Believers would be deceived'. Does not say that it IS possible. But I am sure many who SAY they are Believers will quickly switch sides.

1. I DONT believe Obama is all that, I dont really like the man, he is the new puppet. But, the only point i was trying to make was, the WHOLE WORLD bought into him, in and around the time of his win.
His talks captavated people, he was new, a breath of fresh air.
......we were wrong, people all over the world were wrong.
But come on lets be 100% honest, there was mass hysteria. there was !!

2. I dont think the world will end. My wife is pregnant, and we have just had a baby daughter, she is 7 months old. If i though the world was going to end, we wouldnt have had children. (ps i also have a 15 year old and an 18 year old)

The point of my thread was, right now, in our time, ITS A GLOBAL thing.
in days of yor, these things were regional at best.

We stand at the alter, together, with our breaths held, as specultion of 2012 and other doom slayers throw fear at us.

BUT.
the 7 signs are there. (ok, i know, they always have been)
Science is backing them up in our new world however.
Forget 2,000 years ago, or 200 years ago, this happeneing now.

It's too soon,to start underestimating,the power,that Obama has,or more specifically,the ones whom gave him his power.

I know that this will sound outrageously far-fetched,and crazy,nonetheless,Obama may well indeed,soon become,the leader of the world.
Don't ask me how this could happen,nothing though,and I repeat nothing,that any government does,surprises me.

With enough money,influence and easily manipulated people,absolutely anything is possible.
With the ego that Obama has,nothing would excite him more,than to become absolute ruler.
Just keep a close eye on the 2012 elections.

The world will most definately not end,in 2012,according to my belief system.
In fact it will never end,ever.
The world will be thoroughly cleansed though,and this time,by fire.

I see the later half of 2012,as either being the time,of the beginning of the great tribulation,or the midpoint.
As I mentioned already,believers will know,as soon as the third temple is fully constructed,and the sacrifices begin,that our time left here,will indeed be short.

The countdown will begin,leaving only 7 years.
So,if construction officially begins,on the third temple,on March of 2010.
The year 2017 would be the final one,for mankind as it is now known.

If you look hard enough. Im pretty sure you'll be able to justify any of these above signs.

Does this mean the world is about to end? No.

The Earth will be here long after we are gone wich is as certain as the dinosaurs becoming exting.

Theres no point in worrying about it or attempting to predisct when it will happen. I personaly think it will be a gradual progression in to Anarchy and them we'll all kill each other.

However or when ever it happens its the natural order. We evolved we proggressed and became so succesfull and so big that we collapsed under our own weight, and so the circle is completed.

When you die and theres nothing but blackness. You'll be blissfully unaware that ever even existed in the first place. So nothing really matters at the end of the day.

After reading the posts here...I see some things... I don't think Obama is the antichrist, only an enabler or tool leading to the beast government. The woman riding on the back of the beast is a world religion, the mother of harlots or all the religions and denominations that come out of her... the harlot is the "organized" church or churches... the True Church will be those that meet in homes, coffee shops, informally so to speak. The organized church will be the one that , historically, has given Christianity a bad name...the persecutors, big stain glass windows, hypecritical pastors and congregations, the Church that sold its soul for money and big gymnasiums...harlots.
All of the signs given have always been in existence, however, as Jesus said, these will be like birth pangs or cramps, increasing in size, pain, and frequency until the end; just like a woman in labor has pains or cramps that definitely increase in pain and frequency prior to birth.
As Christians, we are not trying to pin down the day and hour , but the season... the general approach of the end, and in due course, witness and try to save as many people as possible. Further, to try and alert and motivate the "sleeping" comfortable Christian into action.
And even the unbeliever, help them to prepare for the things to come, which will be more terrible than any ever seen. True Christians are not perfect, nor without sin, we are the lowliest of sinners( as Paul wrote), but through God-Jesus-Holy Ghost, we are made whole and without blemish. And Yes, we even love those that don't believe and or bad mouth us.

In our life times? Probably not.

Obama is a guy like any other guy. He's a lot more ambitious than most , obviously, but big picture, he is just one more president in a line of many in a nation tat is as arbitrary as any other and that will not exist forever like any oter civilization.

revelations is highly regarded to have been written in reference to teh fall of the roman empire and has a cyclical aspect to it for every civilization taht rises. It is more of a testament to human nature than a prophecy.

all civilizations will fall eventually and indeed, this is absolutely so.

The Aztecs Civilization is gone.
The Greek Civilization is gone
The Roam empire is gone
Ghengis Khans empire is a memory
Alexander teh Greats empire is gone
Darius the Great's empire has vanished
Charlemange's empire is disappeared
The British Empire grows smaller every day.

And so on.

In my opinion, people have an entirely incorrect perspective on the apocalypse.
People don't seem to understand that fear is a control mechanism be used on you when you buy into the nonsense of apocalypse and fail to recognize that no matter what, you will die and no matter what, the best way to live on earth is to live peacefully and be as best as you can be.

spending all you energies focusing on an apocalypse and destruction is a waste of valuable time which none of us have.

Life is short, the craft is long.

Stare at the finger too long and you miss out on the glory that is the moon!

Perhaps it is the end of the worls as we know it, perhaps not. What's important, though, is not that we live life fearing the end or worrying about possibilities. Instead, we should live life with laughter, joyous hearts, and chocolate.

That's just my opinion, and I hope it didn't come across as an attack.

I agree completely with you. There have been foretellings of the end of the world for ages and as of yet none of them have come to be true. To be completely honest the thought that it could be soon does bother me sometimes, but I also try to keep in mind that if the end is near I need to live everyday like it's the last and just enjoy my time on earth and not worry myself to death about something may never happen in my lifetime

Well maybe it's happening only Jesus might not be coming (I think)

So many seem to confuse 'the end times' and armageddon, with the world itself ending. The Bible isn't implying that all people will be destroyed and the earth gone. It's saying that this 'worldly system' will be destroyed. Big difference.

The earth will be returned to a paradise after satan and his system of things are destroyed.

I have read all the way through ...Shauny' s thread, and there was a lot of good statements. Just thinking about concepts like this heard 1.8 billion people are Christian and thinking what if they tried to make it happen over 2000 years of culture? I am irish Catholic and havent been practicing since 9 or 10, I dont know scripture I dont really even know how to pray. I say a quick thing before dinner out of memorization. I know this is a serious topic going back and forth and used to have trouble in the past coming to terms with what happened or what was going on, hyperventilating or breathing problems or people problems or feeling or thinking like you want to hurt yourself. I thought I heard on this site (I dont know if it is true) if Einstein had an experiment with a person in a room and introduce a rope. My neighbors personally have been launching a religious crusade saying I am evil for living in my house or being framed serving my debt to society and trying to appeal. In America, in America , in America if there was anything going on in music like Columbine they shouldve stopped or at least not fan the flames of war if they didnt know what happened. Future expectations lead to regret often I guess when there are too many things that can go wrong. Watch Monty Pythons comedy of Meaning of Life the year I was born and thinking of society and a lot of different takes on a subject. Including strange things maybe here or there drawings or stories. Maybe just relax take a step back and just be happy to be here and alive. I know ther are a lot of people here older and wiser than me who have been on this site longer. I shouldnt even post anymore just read 4 pages of this.

Point i was trying to make there was, the man captured the imagination of people. Looking back it may have been false hope, we shall see.
Keep in mind, the Obama we seen/heard over here in Europe had more positive effect that it seems to have had in the US of A.

OP; I do think that you may be right on as in the seals are being opened or at the very least being prepared to be opened.

The one major difference between this generation of people and all previous generations since the introduction of the revelations of John, is we have witnessed the return and rise of the Nation of Israel, no prior generation has witnessed this, as well as we are also witnessing the serious efforts to rebuild a third temple.

This I believe is the key to the beginning of the times leading up to the final great battle between good and evil and the return of Christ to set up his Kingdom.

Things that have always been and will always be are not sound proof of a prophecy.

1-6 are things that are just a part of this world of flesh. They always have been and will always be. When I see number 7, then I will consider the idea of prophecy.

Its not hard to predict things that repeat themselves.

Yes, the first 5 seals are broken. I was keeping track as they broke.

The dates are as follows.

Seal 1. 9-11-2001 the attack on the twin towers and Washington DC. Also predicted by Daniel 11-2.
Seal 2. 10-7-2001 when the US attacked Afghanistan. Also predicted by Daniel 11-3 and Daniel 8 in the prediction of the goat and the ram.
Seal 3. Opened on 11-2-2001.
Seal 4. Opened on 11-28-2001.
Seal 5. Opened on 2-2-2002.
Presently we are in the short season of the 5th seal. And according to the story God is waiting on the last of the saints to fill out their number.

Funny the spirits that were under the altar are the spirits that were beheaded for their witness of Christ. And today there are Muslims doing exactly that in Asia and Africa. My guess is the numbers of the last of the saints beheaded is dwindling rapidly.

WOW!......... I was unaware of the RFID device.... (mark of the beast???) I WILL be doing some research about this and will definitely become more aware of it. (See??? The US of A does NOT make people aware of happenings around the world...... There are many of us still kept in the dark regarding things that are to come).
