I am sorry, but this OP comes off as an apologist for the "Good Ol' Boys" who are used to saying what they want, when they want, for as long as they want, without any consideration for the rules set in place long ago.

There is decorum to be observed in the Senate, a certain level of respect even between political enemies. In the Senate, extending the courtesy of a minute or two for a speaker to complete his remarks is a long-standing tradition of respect and acknowledgement of freedom of speech.

For the grinning buffoon Al Franken to object to a few more moments of Lieberman's remarks was a personal slam, and it was recognized as such by all members of the Senate — Lieberman was allowed to complete his remarks, by the way, after Franken was chastised for being a mean-spirited IDIOT.

Let's just refer to Franken as "Farmer Ted" the Freshman Senator from Minnesota. The frosh is certainly out of his element and predictably acts up when he has a microphone.

I'd be surprised if he isn't recalled after only a year. Even a liberal cesspool like Minnesota can only take so much shame and embarrassment.

Just a throw back to Farmer Ted the freshman from "Sixteen Candles". Al Franken wouldn't know a hoe from a hoe.

Franken knew exactly what he was doing and he knew that he would get the reaction that resulted. I call that deliberate behavior, acting up. Just like a toddler acts up when seeking attention or when needing a diaper changed. I liken the latter to the needs of Franken.

1)It is a long standing tradition that contradicts the rules set. How have those long standing traditions of not following the rules done for the U.S. people over the last 30 years?

Some quotes on tradition for you to consider:

"Tradition may be defined as an extension of the franchise. Tradition means giving votes to the most obscure of all classes, our ancestors. It is the democracy of the dead."
- G. K. Chesterton

"Traditionalists are pessimists about the future and optimists about the past."
- Lewis Mumford

"Tradition, long conditioned thinking, can bring about a fixation, a concept that one readily accepts, perhaps not with a great deal of thought."
-JIDDU KRISHNAMURTI, Krishnamurti to Himself

"To hide behind culture or tradition to justify anarchy is a gross insult to the very people whose culture or tradition may be paraded to glorify criminal conduct."
-MAHENDRA CHAUDHRY, speech, Jul. 15, 2005

2)Lieberman finished his remarks because the "Good Ol' Boys" get their way, as usual.

3)Are you really using McCain's admonishment as an argument in your favor? The guy is a world renowned hothead who is as well known for being angry as he is for being politically intelligent. He is also a poster boy for "The Good Ol' Boys'.

Again, you are being an apologist.

Really? Sounds like a story to me.

I've seen property after property after property for sale throughout Canada, with interesting little "for sale" signs posted out front, such as "truck for sale" next to a sign that reads "tractor for sale" next to a sign reading "horse for sale" next to a sign that pathetically reads "dog for sale"... THAT is the bottom of the economic barrel, chum. And I've seen hundreds of such pitiable situations all over Canada.

You just don't know your own country.

What? Yu couldn't find something on Google to back up this BS?

The worst situation I saw was in Nelson, British Columbia, where unemployment was so high, there were panhandlers and beggars on virtually every street corner. You're denying it? You don't know your own country.

Unemployment ON THE RISE in Canada: 2009

Yeah right. You stated 80% unemployment. From your own source:

For the month of October, the rate of unemployment in Canada hit 8.6%, a definite rise from the 8.4% figure of the previous month. The country is also witnessing a growing trend of self-employment as more and more people turn to create work for themselves, disappointed with the nation's job situation.

All is not bleak, as the reports have confirmed that before the October fiasco, many full-time jobs were added by employers for August and September. Also, the month of October saw creation of some high paying jobs in markets such as construction, which ranks among the fastest recovering sectors post recession.

The details of the report were mostly weaker, with the only positive news that the entire drop was in part-time jobs, while full-time positions recorded a decent gain”, said Benjamin Reitzes, an economist at BMO Nesbitt Burns.

You really should read the articles before you post them. Thanks for prooving my point.

Your fabulous healthcare system? Let's take a look at your own CBC news in Canada in 2007:

Healthcare Waiting List for Surgery at ALL TIME HIGH in Canada: Over 18 Weeks

That's FOUR MONTHS, chum. Still denying it?

That's for elective surgery, not emergency surgery.

You're either a liar or you don't know your own country.

I know my country very well and you'd do well to watch the names you're throwing around.

Technically, there's no difference between junior and senior Senators from the same state except that one was in office earlier than the other.

In the case of Joe Lieberman and Al Franken, Senators from different states, it's entirely appropriate to identify Lieberman as senior to Al Franken — considerably senior — which is how I identified Lieberman in the OP.

You must be referring to Barney Frank and his boyfriend that was running a male escort service from Frank's apartment. Your short term memory is only recalling the scandals of the Summer of 2009. Let's not forget these philandering heroes of the Democratic party. Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, John Edwards, Jim McGreevey, Gary Condit just to name a few.

Ever since Barack Hussein Obama's election a year ago, the Democrat Party has forced its will and agenda on the American people,

Gee, that would be the American People that elected Obama by a landslide margin? the same OBAMA THAT MADE HEALTH CARE REFORM THE CENTERPIECE OF HIS CAMPAIGN?
You guys are a laugh!

I don't know what version of history you're remembering, but there was no 'land slide margin'.. the votes were completely divided.

Another garbage thread that's full of laughs. It even has an OP insulting a Moderator after the moderator completely calls him on his lies! Politics are a joke. A very bad one at that. Blind devotion and blind hatred mixed in with ego and arrogance.

Al Franken has an outburst in the senate. And? I know, that must mean he's an evil communist scumbag! It's on the check list they handed out at the exclusive "True Patriot" camp! Actually, it just means that he had an outburst. He voiced an opinion. But because it's a (D) after his name and not an (R), it's evil incarnate. If the letters were reversed, a similar thread would no doubt exist created by the opposing groups fanboys. Except, instead of evil, he'd be painted as a racist moron.

Seriously, this crap makes me grin every time I see it. It's like when people put emphasis on Hussein in Obama's name. Why? Yes, that's his middle name. But it's used as a tactic to trigger the anger and hatred that was cultivated during the Bush years. Using a persons full name constantly is odd and usually reserved for assassins (which is probably also part of the trigger). Lee Harvey Oswald. John Wilkes Booth. Mark David Chapman. James Earl Ray. Using a middle initial is usually reserved for adding emphasis or distinguishing between people with the same name. But since his middle name is Hussein, he MUST be an evil communist secret-muslim terrorist thingy stuff wacha-ma-call-it.

I should make this next part my friggin signature, I say it so much:

THIS CRAP IS A DISTRACTION! All these stupid little things that get so much attention... NONE of them matter! While we're all stupidly looking at the one hand waving around in the air, the other is pulling a rabbit out of god knows where. And it's disgusting that so many people are actively and willingly falling in to this trap. Is being a tool for the corrupt elites really so awesome? It must be, considering how much energy everyone is putting in to it.

May I ask since you are from Canada why you care so much about what the U.S is going through? And I am merely disregarding Doc Velocity's posts as most seem irrelevant to the bigger issues at hand. Which would be our house and senate and congress are out of control. They are not listening to the people. They have forgotten that WE as citizens run the show... not the government running us. They are going to come to a point where the straw breaks the camel's back and realize that the american citizens have had enough of their spending, taxing, and corruption. And I for one WILL stand up to our government and make sure that every single incumbent is voted out of office this coming election year. We just need all the citizens of the united states to come to the realization that our government the way it is is no longer for the benefit of the people. I sincerely hope people wake up and smell the coffee and realize its time for "real" change and not the pathetic excuse for government that we have.

The only ignorance being displayed here is on your part. The fact is that overall Canadian unemployment is on the rise, just as I said and proved. I did say there is 80% unemployment in some areas of Canada, and there is, I've seen it.

You haven't, so you have no idea of what you're arguing.

As for Canadian healthcare waiting lists, your own country's news services confirm it. For emergency surgery, I dare say that American charity hospitals currently surpass the best healthcare found anywhere in Canada, because they're based on American charity — we can afford to be charitable, and you can't. You can barely afford your basic healthcare, and Canadians are still coming to the United States for the best and fastest healthcare.

See, you have been brainwashed to believe that healthcare is a right. It's not. Healthcare is a luxury.
