Very true....So what needs fixing here, the cost of health care that capitalism has no control over, or just dump hard earned tax dollars into a broke system?

A simple doctor office visit was 600 dollar for me that my insurance paid, but I can take my son to clinic outside the insurance umbrella and pay cash of like 20 bucks. I can get good hospital care in other countries and afford it straight out of my pocket too.

So do we need to have more control over a costly system that will even raise the cost more or let the free market do a correction and drive the cost of healthcare down by simply using competition?

Does this really matter? While our world burns in Afganistan and Iraq and our economy is in tatters, is this the subjet to get heated about? 10 min. limit on speaking? Get mad as hell that 2 trillion just got stolen from us. That the Democrats and Republicans both are to blame for the USA ills. That what gets me going.

I agree the Healthcare bill is a big corporate payout and ill serves the people. But frankly Lieberman is just as much to blame as the rest for this Healthcare sham. Lieberman is from Connecticut and shills for the many Insurance companies located there.

It's been revealed that this story was ginned up and that there was a general limit on everyones time during this. Franken even is quoted as saying he agreed with what Lieberman was saying at the moment and that his time treatment was what everyone was getting. So no slap against Lieberman, nor favoritism either.

This thread is a non-issue and could be put to rest IMHO.

How so? I chair meetings, and the best ones work if everybody respects the gavel. The worst ones are where there is none. And 'just a moment' in a meeting can easily turn into a half/hour. Your Senate isn't as bad as our Parliament...but at the rate things are getting done I'd say it's time to abide by the rules.

So explain why Frankin is a piece of #, please?

Joe "Flip that switch for Israel" Lieberman has specialized in being a turnstile politician. Whoever puts the change in his pocket has him in theirs.

As to Al Franken telling him to sit down and stfu, thank you. The advantage of chairing is you do not have to listen to a craven pos, as Joe Lieberman is, beyond the limit of his allowed time. It's also to be noted that indeed this device IS employed infrequently in the Senate. McCain is wrong, but then again what's new?

As a side issue the technique of supporting your position by spreading disinformation is also the act of an unprincipled individual. If Al needs to be spanked for sitting Joe, I'd take a slap to quiet you.

As to progressives being wrong or fantasists, the only way you will know is when something NEW fails. Public housing designed by Marxists is certainly a failure. Public housing designed by architects with a social sense. a success.

Anything done by conservatives, a success only for themselves and eventually the demise of the social network in which they have prospered. This leads to societal collapse and oligopoly until a revolution resolves things (normally badly since self-governance has been squashed long enough that no institutions have survived to permit an easy transition).

It's time for the dispatching of the super rich, all six thousand of them.

I'm sure that the infrastructure that created them will be able to replace them briefly. Maybe fortunes and corporations should have lifetimes, just like us. Four score and ten is enough time for organizations and individuals to show what they got and then die.

This avoids the crash scene while allowing for evolutionary changes with less drama. I'm getting off topic here, sorry.

Kind of all a mute point now. Obama has bribed all of the liberals he needed to, so the time doesn't really matter. Al is still a tool though.
