What would an objective Australian know about American politics? Come to think of it, is there such a thing as an objective Australian? No?

...and could you be a little more specific as to which statement you think is hypocritical and/or hysterical?

Right. Bugger all.

That's fairly insulting. George W. Bush was a moderate ass-kisser and a big-government whore. That aint the way I roll.

It's the fact that you're applauding McCain's outrage and denouncing Franken's denial of time.

When McCain had done the same thing already, yet all this "tradition of the Senate" talk didn't dare leave your mouth when McCain did it.

All you did was expose yourself as a divisive tool who has no shame in manipulating facts to suit what you think is your agenda.

wiki.answers.com...

"Approximately 2.5 to 3 million viewers tune in every night."

Regardless of his audience he has more of an influence over national politics than most politicians

He wields immense power for two reasons.

1. A lot of people believe he actually believes his own rhetoric
2. A lot of people believe the issues that he discusses are important (even if they don’t agree)

This doesn’t even include people that actually believe his rhetoric.

Well, your screen name says it all, mate. You're a nutter.

I DEFY you to show me where I "applauded" John McCain. You can't, because I never applauded John McCain.

All I said was that McCain was pissed off and came to Lieberman's defense. That is not "applauding" John McCain. That was merely reporting.

Now, before you waste more bandwidth, I will reiterate for the third and last time that I am not a fan of Sen. John McCain. I know that he is a left-leaning moderate, I know that he conspires with the sinister liberals of the far left, and I know McCain is a better Democrat than he is a Republican. McCain is not a conservative, he opposes conservative issues, and real conservatives do not respect nor admire John McCain.

Period.

I will say this to John McCain:

Thanks for your military service to our country, Mr. McCain, sorry you got shot down and had your ass beaten in the Hanoi Hilton, and sorry you got your ass burned on that aircraft carrier. But, aside from that, I have no respect for you because you're a two-faced liar and a closet socialist, and you're too short.

Now, I expect you all to stop trying to link me romantically to the senator from Arizona, okay? Do I make myself clear? Good.

G'day.

What?!?!? You have been romantically linked to Senator John McCain from Arizona? HOLY COW!

It is late, I could not resist.

It's weird because it was very, very rude.. Republicans are not the only ones surprised by what he did, though dems sure are not going to throw one of their own under the bus. It's incredibly rare for someone to be refused an extra minute.

Also, I think a lot of it has to do with Franken's habits of attacking Senators in the chamber very blatantly, which I kinda find funny.

AL FRANKEN IS A HERO

The only thing big government loving Lieberman wanted to do is to continue to delay congress from actually doing something for the people of the U.S. for the billions in tax dollar they send to Washington every year.

The only purpose the sold out repubs have in congress is to serve their corporate masters by transferring wealth by hook and by crook from the U.S. middle class to the super rich.

All the Trillions of dollar of debt built up under those crooks Reagan, Bush, and Bush should be paid back by the crooks who made themselves rich stealing from the middle class. We need more congressional representative like Franken telling blowhards like Lieberman to shut up and sit down.

You attack an entire continent of people, and you think Franken was out of line telling that blowhard Lieberman to shut up and sit down?

I think you might want to re-examine your perspectives. You need some reality goggles.

Funny McCain did the same thing to a member who asked for 30 more seconds. Yes that is right on October 7, 2002 Sen. Mark Dayton (D-MN), the Senator from MINNESOTA! asked for 30 seconds to finish his speech and McCain Objected.

The PRESIDING OFFICER. The Senator’s time has expired.

Mr. DAYTON. I ask for unanimous consent that I have 30 seconds more to finish my remarks.

Mr. McCAIN. I object.

I suggest you get your facts right before making comments Doc, the snow job you refer to seems to have been perpetrated on YOU.

At first I thought perhaps you were sincere but misguided.
After that ridiculous statement I can see you're not interested in real debate or even truth for that matter.

Put on some pants. Leave your mother's basement. Stop chain smoking. Put down the Doritos. Work at McDonald's if you have to. But for god's sake expose yourself to the real world and stop letting Fox and Friends liquify what little grey matter you actually have.

LOL. It doesn't surprise me that an old, ignorant, white American doesn't get my screen name.

Let's get to the bottom of this, shall we "Doc?"

Originally posted by Doc VelocityThis 10-minute limit in the Senate is unusual, to say the very least, but it makes perfect sense for a party that is trying to limit debate on a poorly-crafted and less-understood piece of legislation that is being ramrodded down the throats of the America citizens who have to PAY for it.

Contact your Senators NOW and tell them to shelve this half-baked health care bill before it destroys our economy and our nation.

We'll deal with the Democrat Party in 2010.

Ohhh , I see now, you don't really give a dern about Senate tradition, really just about a bill you don't understand yourself and don't agree with?

Originally posted by Doc VelocityAllowing everyone to conclude his remarks is a Senate tradition (it's an acknowledgement of free speech) that Franken chose to defy. Junior Senator Franken's objection was an insult and a slap in the face to Senior Senator Joe Lieberman.

You don't make friends and influence people in the U.S. Senate by insulting them. Perhaps you need a refresher course in Government so you'll understand the dynamic of the U.S. Senate.

The dynamic of the US Senate, and US government for that matter, is to DEPEND on people like you. Ignorant, hateful, divisive. Without you they wouldn't be able to do coc aine with the entities they regulate, or vote to give themselves a raise. Without you thinking you've got a team to stand for, they aren't able to stay rich while the general populace gets poorer. Without a fool like you, their ideologies are hollow..

It is you, Doc, who doesn't have a flipping clue nor a gram of civility in your entire body.

You're going to take a busted ideology to the grave with you Doc, with the people you believed in laughing at you for doing so.

Enjoy. But don't EVER... EVER think you speak for anyone but yourself. That's your mistake, thinking that defending a theory in a book makes you "part of the process." The only process you're part of is dividing people by hatred, and one quick look through this topic you created here about "Senate Tradition" erm, excuse me, your disdain for the health care bill, proves that.

Tap dance around your original claims and first 10 pages of non sense all you want Doc.. you've been exposed as a tool.

From one American to another American.
Many of your statements regarding Canada are completely inaccurate and I feel you are doing this on purpose. Not sure what the motive is, but we could only wish our unemployment was as low as theirs and we had some kind of functional health care system that covers all the masses like they do.
You obviously have something against Canada, but fabricating statistics that are pure lies should get you penalized on this site.
Let's stick to the facts and REAL data please. Maybe you had a Canadian girlfriend that broke your heart or something, I don't know....
