Of all the things you could have mentioned as wrong with Europe, what made you think of sodomy? Is that supposed to be an insult? Homosexuality amongst the native Americans was well documented, and not everything they ate was appetizing by modern standards.
Quite interesting how homophobia comes into post-colonial arguments. The main problems with colonial Europe for me rather seem like religious intolerance and persecution, as well as greed and massive inequality. But then I assume you were being tongue-in-cheek, and returning some tired arguments to the source.
Just to add to some other posts. The "Boer leader" Eugene Terre'Blanche was known for getting drunk and falling off his horse, and his sexual scandals with British journalist Jani Allen. He also served prison time for assaulting a black worker, and rumor has it that he was violated in prison. The anti-Zionist arguments seem somewhat ironic, seeing that apartheid South Africa and Israel (both founded in 1948) were well connected, particularly as far as exchanging arms technology went. But rightwingers discuss these arguments ad nauseam on their websites. Nevertheless, Terre'Blanche deserves his dignity and say, and there is a good case for a "Volks-staat", considering the relative success of Orania.

Eugene Terreblanche Murdered

South African white far-right leader Eugene Terre'blanche, who fought to preserve apartheid in the early 1990s, was beaten and hacked to death at his farm on Saturday.

"He was hacked to death while he was taking a nap," one family friend, a member of Afrikaner Resistance Movement (AWB), told Reuters, requesting anonymity.

Local media quoted another party member as saying he was beaten with pipes and machetes.

Police in the town of Ventersdorp said two men were in custody over the killing and the motive was unclear.

Terre'blanche had lived in relative obscurity despite the revival of his party two years ago and recent efforts to form a united front among white far-right groups.

The killing comes at a time of worries over increasing racial polarisation in South Africa, heightened by a row over the singing of a song by the head of the ruling ANC party's youth league with the lyrics "Kill the Boer."

Terre'blanche always described himself as a Boer.

Terre'Blanche was the voice of hardline white opposition to the end of minority rule, but has had a low public profile since his release in 2004 from prison after serving a sentence for beating a black man nearly to death.

Well that's the end of Eugene then. Sad thing about this fact is that he probably represents the 'best' that movement has to offer in terms of a leader who could do more than just alienate people irregardless of race. To be honest that interview isn't very fair to Eugene and having seen him in TV documentaries in the past i can and will state that he can be more charismatic than his views should logically allow.

Either way the best thing for South-Africa would have been if he lived to be 110 but i guess we are not that lucky. Since i am a optimist i reckon we will still have a world cup and one in what mostly goes for a South-Africa at peace. EDIT : ( I reference to bomb attacks that saw the IPL , cricket, event moved to South-Africa for safety reasons)

That video is unintentionally hilarious. It shows a stereotypical right-winger and a stereo-typical left-winger shoving ignorance at each other.

Probably a bit late to point this out but, as someone else necro'd the thread, you're probably not familiar with Louis Theroux. There's very little of what he does that's 'unintentional'. It's his 'shtick' to come across like that; it makes for better television and often reveals a little bit more about the people he meets.

Oh terrble, terrible, terrible. I never agreed with the guy or his politics, but this was just too ghastly. How much more will they provoke the whites?
Things are getting very tense.

There is a guy called Malema who is a leader of the ANC's youth wing that you should really meet. You have so much in common. Malema has recently been muzzled for inciting hate and about time too.

What Europe needs is more violence and killings so perhaps we could go the way of the Russian train bombers.

Its a wonderful thought but perhaps it would be better to have the same thing happen whgere you and your loved ones live

Yes folks we need more violence in the world

Yes, in a direct sense. It's the end of him in a context of over 3000 brutally murdered farmers, and heaven knows how many other South Africans.
It's the targeted death of a leader of a volatile group with history of violence.
It's a savage murder in a context of Julius Malema leaving SA for Zimbabwe and CONTINUING to sing hate-speech songs and openly praising Mugabe's land-grabs, which he openly says will befall South Africa.

About 200 000 other Murders in the same time frame, yes. Depending on how you count 'farmers' ( white, living in rural area perhaps?) that number may or may not be significant in a wider context but as far as i am concerned it's a small number given the violent country we both live in and the history that spawned this relative disregard for life in general.

The AWB killed practically no one compared to the former white government and that governments leaders escaped without trial or punishment. The fact that many white people ( particularly farmers) had to pay for this gross historic mistake is neither here nor there at this point in time. Perhaps if 'we' whites had been felt a little more guilty and made examples of a few of our so called 'leaders', that hid so many crimes supposedly committed in 'our name' , we could have saved tens of thousands of lives on both sides of the color divide.

It's a savage murder in a context of Julius Malema leaving SA for Zimbabwe and CONTINUING to sing hate-speech songs and openly praising Mugabe's land-grabs, which he openly says will befall South Africa.

Yes well Julius Malema is not saying anything that isn't felt by those who have gained so very little from nearly two decades of 'freedom'. If his claims about how the 'white man' still owns practically everything where not so accurate perhaps he would not have a following? It's never been very hard to incite feelings that exist or to remind people of facts that they are very well aware of.

What is clear is that your not young and that you don't seem to realize that are millions of very angry people in our country that is , just in like Zimbabwe, growing progressively more unhappy with there lot in life given the promises that were made to them and the decades of basic inactivity.

But perhaps i misunderstood you?

Regards,

Stellar
