Pelosi rushes votes to catch plane to Copenhagen

The House is rushing to pass four major bills today ... There is little doubt that few lawmakers, Democrat or Republican, will have much of a chance to examine the bills before voting.

The reason for the rush is that Speaker Nancy Pelosi is scheduled to lead a House delegation to the climate change summit in Copenhagen, and the delegation plane is scheduled to leave after the last vote tonight. The delegation is made up mostly of Democrats, but will include some Republicans.

It would appear that Copenhagen is about to receive some new support from the illustrious Speaker of the House herself. The question I have is: why all the secrecy around this last-minute trip plan?

Copenhagen so far has been plagued with the recent discovery of leaked e-mails form CRU scientists, a walk-out by 'undeveloped' nations which apparently were angry about the dissolution of the Kyoto Protocol, concern over making sure the conference is 'eco-friendly', and expected but rabid demonstrations running seemingly non-stop (and on both sides of the issue; there seems to be both complaints that the leaders are not doing enough as well as complaints that they are doing too much).

Now, just as everything seems to be falling apart, it would appear there is a serious move by Speaker Peloski to come riding in on her white horse, so to speak. Are we watching Plan B?

What was it she said when the Dems took over Congress? Something about the "Most ethical Congress ever" or some such nonsense?

I would have to assume that the US would be more than well represented with out fearless leaders Pelosi and gang attending.

The economy sucks, people are suffering, and these folks with very little common sense are going to go on an expensive trip at taxpayers expense.

Simply ridiculous. As many times they have scolded the bankers and CEO's for ripping off Americans, maybe just for once, Pelosi and gang should look in the mirror and realize that they are no different than the people they scold.:shk:

Well, thier you have it fols! this is what congress thinks of us, for thie own selfish reasons. bills are not thouroughly debated and thought out..not fair at all to us. Why obama dosnt question her n fire her for such reckless bad desicion making is beyond me...ANY other job out thier, for this, yuode be fired,. Unlesss obama in on it too...myabe pelosi is giving obama some Monika Lewinsky treatment under that desk, to do such sloppy work*

They scold the banksters one minute and in the next minute they are forking over unbelievable amounts of public money to these criminals. Celente says it best -- we have criminals running Wall Street being backed up by criminals in the Federal Reserve being backed up by criminals in the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches.

Somewhere in a parallel Universe is a place where George Bush has a soul and Obama is honest... Bush is fling cans on a garbage route and Barry is running a cash register in a corner convenience store.

In other words, politics is like a septic tank: the really big chunks rise to the top. The problem today is not that we have the wrong chunks, but that someone has had serious stomach issues...

I am just sorely confused. What can Pelosi do that Obama can't? And why is her appearance so critical?

I guess this shows that Pelosi and her gang of "mostly democrats" really care more for their secretive meetings overseas with members of other nations than they do about their elected and appointed duties, those same duties for which they are relied on, paid for, and allow them to appear at such meetings.
