news.yahoo.com...

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe came, exempted from a European travel ban because he was attending an international conference.

Do you think they're going to give money to poor countries "to fight global warming", and the way they will fight it is by funding genocide?!

Here's another article;
www1.voanews.com...

He said the developing world would be called upon to clean up the mess left by the industrialized West, therefore deserved ample climate-related funding.
"We who bear the burden of healing the gasping earth must draw the most from the global purse for remedial action," Mr. Mugabe declared.

HORRIBLE!!!

Mugabe is nothing more than a terrorist, and a money-grubbing one at that.

Nice job you did with your country. What's the inflation rate now? How many farms have been completely destroyed because you gave them to your ass-hat buddies that didn't know how to run them?

Yeah, let's give him tons of phat cash.

Totally unacceptable that he should be allowed to speak. Of course he is one of many that should be banned.
Nevertheless, if countries stood together to ban him from such conferences, then his African neighbors will scream: "This is white man's justice! Mugabe has never threatened any other country, so first ban the US and Israel!"
And so the insanity spins about us.
The whole conference was a waste of hot air.
How curios for some countries to say (to paraphrase SA comedian Ben Trovato): "We're holding an exhaust pipe to the earth's head, and unless you pay us, she gets it!"

Mugabe's damage is done. A group of his generals staged a silent coup a year ago. He is kept on as a figurehead. It was written up, hardly anyone noticed.

People like to get outraged and indignant about injustices to show their independent mindedness. But certain targets are selected.

White middle class induced guilt prevents most Westerners from being troubled with blacks dying at the hands of non-Westerners. Mugabe starving his own people was never a big dstory. Just as the say to day slaughter in the Congo never has been.

Or the Muslim regime in the Sudan enacting genocide on half a million black Africans in Darfur. The UN didn't care about it.

But a thousand dying in Gaza evokes shock, horror, indignation. Even if it's in a provoked retaliatory conflict. Israelis are Westernized and white - so seen as guilty oppressors.

African leaders know all this. They chose to never seriously criticize Mugabe feeling if they abat the British or Americans in helping a black ruler be removed they might be next.

Strange the racial politics played out internationally.

There is no such thing as a clean or humanitarian war. That much is clear. But let us forget the displacements and rights of return and so forth in the mid-East.
Mugabe was not at war, and he did that to his own people, not only since his spiralling madness since about 1998 (when he called gays worse than "pigs"). OK they had a low-level war in the congo DRC, where Mbeki and others had mineral issues, but that was hardly a full-scale war.
Does anybody know - how many did Mugabe kill in the 1980s already with his North Korean trained troops? How many? 20, 000-40, 000?
At that stage he didn't touch the productive white farmers - because he knew PW Botha would kick his ass.
Now the pitiful Zimbabwean refugees are begging at our traffic lights, compounding an existing social problem. Local blacks often (not always) defend Mugabe, yet they have xenophobic attacks where Zimbaweans are burned and murdered. We've taken on a whole country's population!
Many Zimbabweans are also highly educated and literate and have an edge over local blacks.
What gets me: the ANC forced political change through sanctions. Yet they refuse to use sanctions against Mugabe.
Alleged apartheid victims are now suing foreign firms for apartheid profiteering. If I was a Zimbabwean I'd sue the ANC South Africa for supporting and propping up Mugabe.

Thanks for all your observations. If the world was fair and just things you suggest would be done. But it isn't.

A black South African government does not want to be seen as conspiring to bring down a fellow liberated state. Pride. Solidarity against Britain and the West. Who knows when other African states might be called on to bring down a South African government.

So everyone waits until Mugabe dies hoping something miraculous will happen to change the situation. The ostrich burying it's head.

People will suffer, people will die. The corrupt beyond repair UN will do nothing about it.

South Africa and Zimbabweans will suffer because of an attitude blck Africans are victims and owed something. The great Shakedown worldwide where ordinary working people today have to pay for perceived transgressions in the colonial era.

Everyone blames the British, or the Americans, or whoever.

Mugabe was a black leader liberating his country from British colonial rule.

He is responsible for his corruption - not anyone else.

The Zimbabwean people are indirectly responsible for tolerating a leadership that was destroying their country.

If people want independence they had better learn it takes honesty and commitment.

Mugabe is a hero of the far-left. Typically he cares not about human lives but is deeply concerned about the climate.
