I think it is a countdown to 2010,
I did the math on a calculator and it comes to about 16 days

If I did the math right, the countdown is shooting for 16 days away, which would be the 31; which is New Years Eve.

They must be planning to outroll some kind of freebie in the new year then. Just seems a strange way to find the countdown.
Or maybe its like the illuminati website backwards, and we have stumbled onto Israels timeframe to attack Iran

This reminds me of Grand Theft Auto 4. Loooong before it came out, I was flipping the channels one night. I forget what channel it was but I came across one that had a big roman four "IV" and a countdown underneath it. That was it. The font looked familiar so I had a hunch but it was just on some channel, running for at least 2 hours - i stopped checking. It was just the IV and numbers underneath counting backwards. It was weird.

According to the ad on the way home last night , it was due to be released soon? First time I've seen an ad for it, maybe it was just an ad?

Surely it has to do with something within the reference of "Im Feeling Lucky". What could be lucky for us once the countdown is over ?
Im in no way assuming anything is sinister with my post. I just find it weird they put a countdown within that reference....
I would feel lucky if google accidently deposits millions of pounds into my account at the end of the countdown (Im sure they know it....They know em all)......But Im definately not that lucky

Darn......not enough 1% put aside for the possibility of my bank account being inundated with a lot of zeros....

Chrome is already out as a browser... the OS however is at least another year out... so the way I see it the countdown is either when Google becomes self-aware (SkyNet), or 2010. You decide.

Google Chrome was released last year for Windows and the stable release for Linux and Mac was released a few days ago. I'm even using it right now. Are you by chance thinking of Google Chromium, their operating system?

It's a countdown to new years. Changing the time zone on your PC will result in a different value.

Just checked a few different Google searches-
.com (US) countdown
.co.uk (UK) countdown
.com.au (Austrailia) countdown

.co.fr (France) no countdown
.co.es (Spain) no countdown
.co.il (Israel) no countdown
.de (Germany) no countdown
.co.th (Thailand) no countdown
.co.jp (Japan) no countdown

Seems only to be on English speaking secular states with traditionally Christian Protestant religious affiliation.

It's a countdown to New Years Eve.
