T'was our last night of freedom,
and all through the town.
The streets were all empty,
The bars were closed down.

We're safe in the shelter I built through the year,
Stocked with rifles and ammo, foodstuffs and some gear.
My children are sleeping all snug in their beds,
As visions of bombs dropping over their heads.

What horror to my wandering eyes should appear,
U.N. forces approaching with rifles and gear.
The town is surrounded, they'll shoot all on sight,
Their rifles are blasting all through the long night.

My neighbors are screaming as dragged from their house.
U.N. soldiers are laughing when taunting the spouse.
Soldiers beat my neighbor with clubs to his head,
He's in the streets bleeding, they left him for dead.

They round up the people and drove them away.
Our town is now dead and to God we must pray.
I heard the commander as they drove out of sight.
This town is all finished, they gave us no fight.

scariest poem ever, it did however stay in tune.

Great job! Creepy though, Let's just hope it stays a poem and doesn't become something we actually tell our children in the future!

doesn't.

Merry Christmas to you too!

The poem is pretty good, if depressing.

Wow. Good rhyming too. But, I think this is just a little bit extreme.
If UN forces come knocking at the doors of US citizens, there will be ANARCHY. I know of all too many citizens across the US with more guns than brains. They're waiting for times like this.

So, I highly doubt this scenario would come to light.

For those who do not know.. every home in Switzerland has a military rifle and ammunition..

During WWII a German General asked a Swiss General what Switzerland would do if Germany invaded Switzerland with a one million man force.

The Swiss General replied.. "We will all come out, fire two rounds and go home"

Germany never invaded Switzerland in WWII.

That is about what would happen if anyone is stupid enough to EVER try to disarm the American people. It will not be a pretty sight and I will put my bets with my fellow Americans as opposed to any domestic or foreign force.

I did take it that you wrote this yourself, without a source or quote.
If so, good use of the terminology. I did enjoy reading it.

Keep it up, I enjoy a good poem once in a while.

Quite imaginative! Thankfully it's not something that could happen in the near future. The United Nations does not have a military. It sounds a lot like what happened in World War II to Jewish people in Nazi-occupied Europe though.

Very interesting.. Is this really true..I can see it in the 1940's but do they really still have the guns today? Did the government give the people the o.k. to do this? I am thinking If true then the government must have been the ones to issue the guns to all homes.

If that is true, the U.S. is a different situation.. we were never told to arm ourselves against foes like this or given the guns by the government,

Awesome poem! Nice work!

While it may be doubtful that UN Forces would ever do round ups as such, I must add a thought to what some people would do IF that happened - Think about this one for a bit before reacting!

I'm guessing a lot of people would be so shocked that "UN Forces" were at "their" door, that they would just do as they were told. Seriously. I bet a lot of folks would be stunned and amazed and think it must be important to do what they say - its the UN!

They do it all the time with other titles...give their fingerprints to bank tellers at the drive up windows. We forget how easy it is to take power away from some people. For some, all it takes is the proper "title".

Correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't the U.N. forces wear those blue berets?
The U.S., is spreading all of our soldiers all over the world. The rumors
that I have heard would suggest that U.N.peace-keeping forces would be used in an emergency.
If we should have an emergency, manmade or natural, that would give
TPTB an excuse to declare martial law.It would be U.N. forces "defending"
or "rescuing" us.

Most. Depressing. Poem. Ever.

I know you didn't mean to...but you took one of my favorite holiday poems and, well, totally ruined it...

Ah, well...

It did stay in tune, though...

It wasn't my intention to depress anyone.I want to help in waking people
up to the possibility of something like this could happen.
