Why the EU doesn't appear as one country on maps?

None of the member states are truly sovereign entities anymore. At least no more than a US state is.

Maybe if there's a world government, we won't even realize it, since the maps will say otherwise?

Are you sure it doesn't say the "European Union" somewhere on the map written across the countries? That is how maps over here are presented. All the states are visible and across the whole continent is written "The United States of America".

That's the difference. Truly, and officially. It is not official in actuality and hopefully will never be.

Truthfully, the EU is a very different "beast" to the USA. I think you'll find there is a lot more independence than there may appear to be on the surface.

Just for an example-Independent standing armed forces.

It is an economic union in essence.

Many years yet until the reality of which you speak comes to fruition.

As said above, there is a world of difference between the EU and USA. Trying to compare the two is like comparing Apples and dung beetles. Your post makes little, if any, sense.

On common maps you won't find the EU marked like that, but as far as many geographers go those lines that denote the countries that make it up should be dotted soon (like states/provinces). Shoot if you ask anyone to draw you a map of the political realms you'd find Europe as one, has been since the Cold War only now it includes parts of Eastern Europe.

I wonder if it will ever be official though. Maybe in a couple of decades it will be, but it would be a loose confederation. I just don't think the French and the Germans would like trying to hammer out a common language without using actual hammers. Most likely it'd be at first like the US was, where people from each state ID'd themselves as members of that state before the country, then the war of 1812 changed that.

Just a thought.

The people of Britain will never call themselves European, although the practice is commonplace on the continent.

Quite why the UK has thrown it's lot in with the EU is a mystery, as we have spent the better part of a thousand years fighting either France or Germany (allied with one or the other against the third) against a unified Europe. Now Germany and France have teamed up together, they have finally managed it...

Hopefully, one day there will be a world-union. Not the doom and gloom of the NWO, but more of a partnership. Maybe an attempted NWO take-over will lead to what I mentioned, once people revolt, if we don't kill ourselves off first.

Actually, I think the proliferation of trans-national corporations speaks more to your premise than the EU, at least if you are trying to describe fascism. And I mean real fascism, not the fascism=socialism=communism=nazism retardation of political/historical understanding that characterizes the signs and minds of Palin and her merry band the teabaggers.

Best,
Skunknuts

Hi, I'm from the Netherlands.

On december 1st 2009. The Lisbon treaty came in act.
A treaty, witch was first presented as the constitution of the European union. Witch we voted, NO !!
Prime minister J.P. Balkenende wasn't bothered in anyway, so he just for the sake of things to come, signed it anyway.

If what I've learned is correct then all European country's lost there sovereignty at the above given date.
The E.U. overrule AL laws, rules, politics, etc. Over the individual country's.

Already there is a demand for a E.U. military force. The ways for creation etc. already exist. The w.e.u. is an allegiance made up by 10 E.U. country's. Including mine. They overrule al the other nations.

We now have a European parliament and president witch are instated, not voted for by the people.

You won't find it on a map yet. Because the people ( not al of them ) don't now there screwed yet.

I, don't now what to believe but I just hope for the best, but al signs point for the worst.
