968 arrests at Copenhagen mass climate rally

news.ninemsn.com.au

Police arrested almost 1000 people among the violent fringes of a mass rally in Copenhagen on Sunday intended to put pressure on the UN climate summit to take stronger action.

Tens of thousands of people took part in the march to the heavily guarded conference centre where world powers are struggling to hammer out a deal to combat global warming. Other rallies were held around the world from Australia to the Arctic Circle.

Most of the main Copenhagen rally was peaceful, but police moved in when hundreds of youths clad in black threw bricks and smashed windows. Riot police surrounded the

Whoa. Almost 1000 protesters arrested at Copenhagen for all the violence they started, and the Copenhagen riot police had to suppress those rioters and bring it under control.

For everyone on ATS, you should all know that only the globalist elite would benefit the most out of Copenhagen.

Ironically, why 'protest' about 'climate change' in Copenhagen when it's winter and subzero temperatures?

Why would people protest on this scale, wanting action taken on climate change, when that is what this conference is all about?

I could understand it if the conference was about doing nothing about climate change. Are these protesters paid by world leaders?

A mass "protest" for action on climate change would certainly drown out any planned protests to expose what TPTB are really up to.

Something is just not right about this...

Nearly all of those arrests are what the police call "preventive arrests" meaning people who have done nothing except be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Legislation was passed just recently to allow this.

Among the arrested were elderly people & Hare Krishnahs. They all had plastic strips put on their wrists & were forced to sit on the street for hours until they were driven off to temporary detainment cages set up for the occasion.

yet another bitter taste of what is to come on this Earth. Welcome to the brave New World (Order).Regardless - for or against, you are not welcome to say it! Well, we can still vote, right?

The elite didn't kill Tesla but they are still killing the chance of
using any of his technology to solve the global carbon warming.
Things like a tower as good as Niagara Falls would scare off any elite.
But there are an assortment of carbon less generators of various
power levels. The tower still would not be that difficult to monitor
as far as sales as those details never go to fruition from the objectors.

Well of course, we have to attack them before they attack us

Thats what I'm wondering myself.

This is messed up for sure. Although, this isn't so much about climate change as it is for cashing in on climate change via taxes. Not sure if that had anything to do with the protests or not but thats what I'd be over there doing.

This is what bothers me the most, the protest was peaceful until a group began trouble. I truly wonder if that was planned and instigated to throw bad light on anyone protesting?

Seems to be how most protest courses run, yes, this does prevent the true message from getting across, kinda works with TPTB and against the general polulace

Seems like a flashback to RNC 04.

They arrested over 1000 people during that and later deemed it unconstitutional and the city was fined 1000 bucks per head for anyone still in jail by a certain time.

But the arrests were almost the same, reporters, old people, protesters, cats, and dogs were all arrested during this..

Oh well same thing different yr..

There are many compelling reasons for everyone to be against COP15; Whether one supports cleaner energy, less pollutants(this includes CO2 in the US now:@@
less waste, etc.

If you remember from reading it...The Copenhagen Treaty will tax the G20 up to 2% of each country's GDP to be funneled to the World Bank for what ever purpose it deems necesary for its use. The hog wash about helping the poor get ready for climate change is greatly overshadowed by this opportunity for embezzlement on a colossal scale. All that money going to the WORLD BANK. It is unfathomable.

The difference between the exisisting systems designed to keep people poor and starving and the Treaty is no one wants this. It will be enFORCED.

The Bravest people are over there fighting the good fight. Wish I were there myself.
