No there is no other direction ..

You are either Left-leaning or Right-Leaning ( depending in your believes) ..

Those who think they are "their own political" spectrum are way more delusional then the Left/Right Label

I was going to post in another thread (the 'Palin' one) that it was unbelievable that the public in the USA, and the UK too, are still falling for this left/right, two parties to choose from BULLS***.

To also see it alive and well in ATS (where you would have thought people would know better) just beggars belief.

I'm therefore giving this thread a flag and a star, and I hope you get applause from every member of staff here.

I hope everyone uses this post as a reference (and a club) to beat all those left/right zealots within ATS, when the opportunity presents itself.

BRILLIANT!!!

The above is the real reason why some people claim "there is no right, or left."

The "Progressives/Liberals" passing for "the middle road"....

You do have to wonder why msot of the people who agree with this point of view "there is no left, or right" have leftist ideas....

I wonder why that is the case...and it has nothing to do with "being awake"...

This is a similar red herring as creating a crisis, and then presenting a particular person as the real choice, and the "savior of all..."

This is where the real "sheep" are herded into.

Do you think the forefathers of the United States were dellusional?

U.S. Constitution - Article 4 Section 4

Article 4 - The States
Section 4 - Republican Government

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

www.usconstitution.net...

What we need is more Republicans in power being more like Ron Paul.

Too many Republicans in power are RINOS, and not Real Republicans.

no what we need are people who will actually think, instead of just going the way there party rules and rulers guide them.

(btw - i too like ron paul, hes one of the few people left in congress who will stop and think for a moment.)

5?
That won't help much, divided we fall. Maybe if all the people that are awake team up there is a chance. My fear is that its really too late. Can the people take the world back?
And make no mistake it is a world issue now, not a national one. The ptb don't pay attention to borders.

Categorizing everyone under two labels is a lie. The same lie the partisans are selling.

There is no rest of us..

You either have ideals (and beliefs) that make you Left-leaning or Right-leaning ..

Stop thinking you are the chosen people or the "special ones"

If you think you might be right/left/center why not find out?

www.theadvocates.org...

I think most of us will find we lean different ways depending on the specific issue. I know I have always had disagreements with both side.

Left and right, understood properly, are directions on a line representing your POLITICAL/ECONOMIC beliefs. This line is not based on the center, but on the infinite extreme boundaries.

Looking off to the left we see absolute government control over property and monetary systems.

Looking off to the right we see absolutely no government control over property and monetary systems.

A centrist view would be that government ought to control property and monetary systems in direct proportion to their impact on society. More impact, more control.

We all fall somewhere along this line in regards to our POLITICAL/ECONOMIC beliefs. On the other hand, we don't. There is no average sunset... the center is pure abstraction as there is no judge.

The whole debate is about trying to find the center. I might say, "There it is!" but you might say, "That's too far left!" and another "That's too far right!" Think relativity. There is no inertial system... there is no center... only relations between points.

Saying you are immune from this type of POLITICAL/ECONOMIC classification is like saying that you're not male, female, or anything in between.

But remember, humans are anything but one dimensional and many more axes would be necessary for proper classification.

Focusing on this petty dichotomy to the exclusion of the billion others seems like the problem. Yes, I'm left or right of you on THIS PARTICULAR SPECTRUM which is only a SEGMENT of my political beliefs which are only a SEGMENT of my human beliefs which are only a SEGMENT of my superhuman beliefs and so on.

So what? I also don't like peas. Wanna fightabottit?

I dont understand it, basically what your saying is that if your slanted either way, your falling for some conspiracy, which doesnt make any sense because our political ideologies only go either way. If your talking about the two party system I agree, but to discribe it as a "left right" thing is a rather big generalisation as politically we are slanted either way, regardless of whether we support the Republicans or Democrats or are independent.

Its impossible to tell folks not to be slanted rightwing or left wing. We have our values, our beliefs and they will be slanted one way or another. The issue is not what side we take in as its inevitable... the issue is when folks begin to take advantage of that fact to use it for their own selfish political agenda.

"No there is no other direction ..

You are either Left-leaning or Right-Leaning"

So lets suppose we laid all of the issues out on the table and had a person choose left or right on each issue. Let's suppose the total number of issues was an even number. Now lets suppose that person chose left on exactly half of the issues and right on half of the issues. Well then, that would make it theoretically possible to stand straight. No leaning necessary.

I've been wondering lately. How is it that it takes damn near 1000 television channels to satisfy the myriad interests of the American people and yet so many still feel that the two predominant political parties can adequately address all of those interests? It doesn't really make any sense at all to me.
