Investigating medical misinformation and manipulation at Planned Parenthood, the nation's abortion industry giant.

APPLETON, WI -- New undercover footage from an Appleton, WI Planned Parenthood abortion clinic shows clinic staff, including the abortion doctor, lying to two young women about fetal development and encouraging the one who is pregnant to obtain an abortion because "women die having babies."

In the undercover video, when the two women ask a Planned Parenthood counselor if the pregnant woman's 10-week-old unborn child has a heart beat, the counselor emphasizes "heart tones," and answers, "Heart beat is when the fetus is active in the uterus--can survive--which is about seventeen or eighteen weeks." On the contrary, embryologists agree that the heartbeat begins around 3 weeks. Wisconsin informed consent law requires that women receive medically accurate information before undergoing an abortion.

The counselor then says, "A fetus is what's in the uterus right now. That is not a baby." Dr. Polhaska, the abortion doctor, insists, "It's not a baby at this stage or anything like that." Polhaska also states that having an abortion will be "much safer than having a baby," warning, "You know, women die having babies."

The video comes one month after the widely reported resignation of Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson. Johnson left her leadership position at Planned Parenthood in Bryan, TX after watching a 13-week old fetus being aborted in her clinic on ultrasound. She said during a recent interview, "Planned Parenthood really tries to instill in their employees and the women that are coming in for abortions that this is not a baby." In another interview, she noted, "They don't want to talk about when your baby has a heartbeat," because "they don't want to give the woman information that could give her a connection with her baby."

The investigation is organized by Live Action, a nonprofit student group. Lila Rose, the 21-year-old UCLA student and Live Action president, says medical lies and manipulative counseling are routine at Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain.

"They will do or say anything in order to sell more abortions to more women, whether it is covering up sexual abuse or lying to women about medical facts," says Rose. "Our team has visited dozens of Planned Parenthood clinics undercover. Planned Parenthood, while claiming to support patient self-determination, operates with an 'abortion-first mentality.'"

The video is the first in Live Action's "Rosa Acuna Project," a multi-state undercover audit documenting Planned Parenthood's abortion counseling. Planned Parenthood has come under fire in recent months after Live Action's investigations found them willing to conceal sexual abuse and accept donations targeted to abort African-Americans only. Videos of abuse cover-up prompted state investigations of Planned Parenthood and diversion of the abortion giant's public subsidies.

"Planned Parenthood is a billion-dollar organization with nearly $350 million of government funding, and stands to gain hundreds of millions more from national health care," says Rose. "Do we really want to subsidize an organization that gives women in need atrocious misinformation and predatory abortion practices?"

Nice find... I will always believe abortion for party girls, or people who want to have sex but not face the music is wrong. A lot of people around here talk about how we should care for the Earth and Care for Animal rights, but when you mention an unborn baby people freak and say it isn’t human or isn’t sentient even though science defines life as when two cells separate (or something to that affect). Sometimes it is very comical when a pro-abortion person wants to do away with the death Penalty but continue abortion. How stupid is that?

Pro-fetus you mean. To heck with the young girl who has been molested. You people would have her prize the conception and carry the fetus to term.

Im male, so i never have to have it done to me. Not to sound pig headed. I dont care, it doesnt affect me. I can hear the criticism on that now "what if it were YOUR kid".

How can anyone here tell someone else what they can and can't do with their body? Some people have a God complex if you ask me. Thats is however, not the subject here. The subject is wether PP was wrong in their actions.

I believe that when a woman comes in for an appointment, there is a certain way that you have to speak to them. They are probably in a terrible place internaly, but flatout lying to them is a whole different ballgame. If a Doctor lies he should be thrown in the gutter period.

I don't know where you get that mindset from but you're being misinformed. If you wanna compare women to men in terms of assistance from the government in any field I'd be curious to read your case, but in a different thread.
Of course, I mean, it almost needs to go without saying, abortion is fine in such circumstances. They can easily be accompanied by a police report. Maybe then we can slap a murder charge on top of the rape charge so they can start gettin' some decent sentencing.
Of course whether or not to press charges is up to the victim.

The thing is abortion is just a tool of convenience these days. It's so unPC to say it, but it's true.

What about the body that’s growing inside? Who protects that entities life? Where do we draw the line? Just because it’s your body doesn’t mean you have the right to kill a poor being inside of you who is defenseless what of their body and rights?

Because its not just their body, they are sharing a body with another living being. True the baby is inside a womans body but it has a body all of its own. What makes a baby dependent upon the mothers body besides size after 17 weeks? Lung development and that is it.

ONG this makes me sick and brings me to tears.As a mother of a severely premature and precious little girl, are they saying my daughter only became human the moment my womb was cut open? Perhaps she wasn't even human for the first 3 1/2 months of her life. It still disgusts me to know that i could have legally gotten an abortion 10 minutes before her birth.

Tell me that at 10 weeks this isn't a baby. Notice the 10 fingers and 10 toes. sure it may be the size of a grape but it is fully human.

People are not properly informed about the truth of gestational development nor are they informed about the truth of abortion.
Most people think of the unborn as just a clump of cells, but the truth is it is no longer a clump of cells before you can test positive for pregnancy via a urine test. Yes you can test positive while the baby is still a "clump of cells with a blood test, but not a urine test. That is at 3-4 weeks. They are already beginning to develop arms and legs, Jaw and other facial features with an intact nervous system. AKA they can feel pain!

I myself, a male, am pro life. But, belive abortion should be used only in cases like rape, not becuase susie wwent partying, drank to much of daddys unlcoked up booze, maybe her b/f or guy she met thier had some fun and got preggo...you roll the dice yuo take yuor chances.
My sisters friend years ago, when she was like 15 to 22 did things like that. banging cutie she was, had so much sex especially when 21 and going to bars. Now, she does have like 3 STD's and has had 5+ abortions...even the doctors were telling her thirs only so many times we can do this! abortions apparently, done frequently, can harm a womans reproductive system in her body..

Ah... my friend i do see you point. Very valid. My thinking is this.. If a woman wants an abortion that means she dosent want the child, for whatever reason. So lets say abortion is illegal, she has the child and he or she is still unwanted. Then what? Thats when we get to hear the heartbreaking stories about child abuse, molestation and neglect. Not to mention the heavy burden on the tax payers for welfare, foodstamps, and so on.... Is a horrible life a life worth living?

You want to save some lives soldier...see what you can do to eliminate the collateral damage of war. You know...when innocent victims, men women, children entire families (who have nothing to do with the war except they are in the wrong place at the wrong time) are wiped out in the name of somebody else's freedom? Do something about those lives and I will let you stake a claim to what is in my belly.

I am happy for those who decide to become parents. I do not condone LATE TERM abortion unless the health of the mother is at stake and then yes, even then it must be allowed.

Well im a single father to a 4 yeary old girl whose mother wanted to abort her so whats your point. I wouldnt let her do it, so i got my little Alice to myself now and i wouldnt change a thing. .But i still feel ist the parents decision to make nor yours or anyone elses..

I really enjoyed this post. This shows the corruption in the field of abortion. Just like a dentist (I believe) will try to make money off of you (or your insurance company) by charging you for the x-ray that you didn't need, an abortionist will not want to convince you that you are making the wrong choice, or even want to make it seem like a choice.

I am pro-abortion when it comes to the health and safety of women, or young girls who can not afford mentally, financially, and in the rare case of physically unable to conceive, but what the doctors and nurses in this video are doing is wrong.

To me it looks as though these abortionist are salesmen using false information or vague information to sell their services. Being in sales myself I understand that if you lie to a customer, it will only come back to haunt you and bite you in the ass.

Planned parenthood also provides excellent prenatal care and pediatrics. They were a lifesaver for me when I was pregnant with my son. I was not allowed to purchase insurance once I was pregnant so I had no choice but to use the sliding scale clinics at planned parenthood.

They also handled my son's neonatal care and his newborn check-ups until age 1.

So while they do perform abortions at some locations, they also provide a lot of other vital services to women and children in the community.

SIR OR MADAM:
These doctors know the fate of an unwanted child can and is often 1000X worse than, NOTHING. If you doubt that why don't you read my thread on the Satanic US Government and see what happens to the children in orphanages and in places like Boystown. I would not wish it on my worst enemy, let alone my own flesh and blood. Which let us not forget..it is.

Christians do not believe that. Way to deny ignorance. They believe in the age of accountability. Meaning when on reaches the ability to make an informed decision with out out side influence telling them what to believe. So if you were a Siamese twin you could do what ever you wanted to them as well?
Abortion can prevent you from conceiving after just one. Just ask my best friend.
There are so many people wanting to adopt. There is no shortage of potential adoptive parents so the argument of child abuse and welfare is out.

Someone mentioned earlier about having a "god complex". I think alot of doctors succomb to this. When you go to the doctor, you hold onto their every word, because they have the info you need. Its kind of sick to manipulate that bond with your own agenda. people TRUST you.
