Dangerous Blizzard Lashes Plains, Midwest

We didn't get much snow but the temperature has plummeted and the winds were high. What struck me about this weather system is that it was so huge. Looking at the national satellite pictures the "swirl" covered almost the entire continent east to west and north to south.

I know the systems vary, but I don't remember seeing one quite that big before.
