The problem with that is the logistics of it are incredibly insane. They will have to disarm us first. People are so on edge right now that there is no way they can disarm the American populous before words gets out that it is going down. even if they were to use Chinese troops. China's military is only 2 million strong plus lots of other factors.

But they already know all this and they want a war because they are actually stupid enough to think they can win. It likens back to a thread posted earlier today about Groupthink. And consequently those lucky enough to survive will get to witness it's downfall.

I have the solution that requires no revolution to do it, will bring the PTB to their knees, but it requires people to drop their ideals. Both left and right ideals are the block to any type of solution. Neither amounts to a full solution. I've been posting this a few days now...I suppose I should make my own thread with the solution so people can bitch that it's not how they want it some way they've been told it should be.

When enough people wake up, you get a revolution.

Your job is to start a web blog, submit comments to news article sections, write letters to the editor, write letters to your congressman, create videos detailing the corruption and share them with your friends and family, start a non-profit organization to accept funding that promotes libertarian ideals, run for a local office, hold your local officials accountable and demand they nullify federal laws that violate the constitution, etc.. etc.. etc..

There, now hop to it.

That should keep you busy for a while.

ya blogging that will show them. if you were really as awake as you think you are you would know that the actions you advise are like throwing rocks at a tank. im not saying its hopeless but I would be shocked if do it yourself videos or being on the board of my local whatever will make the elite shake in their boots.. i mean good for you for trying but the revolution is built up in your head.. like the kids in the 60s who thought they were "changing the world" but the machine hardly flinched.. i mean really in your quest for justice what officials have youheld accountable.. or what victory can you share with us to show that "waking people up" has done anything.. thats not a insult if there is something to share im actually totally ready to hear. you should look up the topic of doublethink. Just because people are "aware" they are getting f-ed doesnt mean they are over coming it.

Ask the people in the inner city why they don't go to college, get a job, etc.. etc.. and you'll get essentially the same response.

Civil Disobedience, written by Henry David Thoreau, was first published in 1949. While the first meaningful rebellion in India against British rule was 1857 it is unlikely Thoreau's book had any influence on India at that time. Although the Rebellions of 1857-1858 seemingly had little effect on ending British rule they marked the first time that the indigenous people of India organized in a meaningful way to end British rule. The rebellions led to the rise of Indian nationalism, and by the time Gandhi had returned to India in 1915, after spending some twenty years as an ex patriot in South Africa where he perfected the strategy of satygraha, (a form of non violent resistance inspired by the teachings of Baba Ram Singh), he returned to India and began the long, slow and painful process of implementing this strategy in India, that ultimately led to the end of British rule. Gandhi had read Thoreau's seminal work and praised it openly.

The point of this narrow and abridged history lesson is to make clear that ideas of liberty and resistance to tyranny have lasting power that long outlive those who propose or advocate it. Some even live long enough to see their own advocacy shape revolutions that are victorious. Thomas Payne's Common Sense was first published in 1776 and was an instant best seller and regarded as very influential in inspiring residents of the Colonies, then ruled by Britain as well, to revolt against the Crown of England. There was no internet to help make the work go viral, no television to promote it, just the true and genuine desire by people to life life with liberty and with the right to pursue property and happiness.

Both the use of military force and non violent resistance have their place in revolutions and one or the other can be effective enough to bring about victory. Both combined are extremely potent tools in defeating tyranny and long before any violent military strategy is employed many people already begin their own form of non violent resistance to tyranny. As long as people are "going along in order to get along" they are contributing to the very tyranny they despise. That is, for those who despise it and it should be recognized that many people will actually side with tyranny and even fight for its survival. However, for those who despise it, perhaps the first most effective step towards defeating tyranny is quietly and respectfully declining to co-operate.

Just because there is currently legislation being debated that threatens to fine and/or imprison people who do not comply with demands of purchasing insurance, doesn't mean that in the event the Senate passes this dubious act that people have to comply. Even if they are arrested and brought to trial, they will still, presumably, have the right to a trial by jury and can and should do all they can to convince that jury that they are not criminals and have the right to make their own health care decisions regardless of what legislation might say and the jury has an absolute and plenary power of acquittal. Juries, peers of the people brought before them, do not have to convict people and shouldn't if the legislation that brought a person before them is repugnant to liberty and unalienable rights.

There is much that can be done to oppose tyranny and for those who care enough, it should be done. As to those who don't care enough and even enjoy openly ridiculing those who do care, what ultimate contribution or difference do these people make? How influential are they, really, in halting revolutions? They represent the dying gasps of people whose principles and ethics are recognized universally to be questionable and hardly worth the acknowledgment.

Not well said. Who do I have to overthrow to stop you from corrupting the English language?

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The current presidential administration and all members of congress were elected with the consent of the governed, expressed through a vote. As you can read above, the declaration does not give you permission to overthrow a government that was fairly chosen by the majority of the people. The Constitution does not have an overthrow clause and it is the "supreme law of the land."

Overthrowing a democratically chosen official(s) would not improve "safety or happiness" Rather, destabilizing the government would throw the country into chaos. I seem to recall that the US did that in Iran in 1953. Didn't work out so well.

Please tell me what the purpose of voting is if you need only overthrow the government whenever your candidate loses. If you failed to speak up while Bush was having the NSA conduct illegal domestic wiretapping and providing retroactive immunity to telecom companies that broke the law. What did you say when he killed habeas corpus? Did you have a problem with indefinite imprisonment without trial or torture? I doubt it.

What's going to corrupt this country is a bunch of neocons who spend half the time praising the Constitution and the other half nullifying it whenever it becomes inconvenient.
