Actually, it did, it cost me (and everyone that did) more to change over to the new standards and initially the cost of air conditioners and fridges went up. On Cat Converters, we now have a tax grab and forced vehicle emission standard inspection every two years (and on buying any used vehicle less than 20 years old), plus the hidden tax increases caused by inflation (since all these costs are passed down to we little people) as well as direct taxation to support new idiot bureaucrats. How many more costs have been impacted by say just CFC's and Cat Converters?

So your point was again?

I would agree that there was an upward cost to moving to removing CFC's and to Catalytic converters. However how much is too much when you are dealing with the Ozone or clean air.

Surely the small price we payed was worth the cost.

Make no mistake I do not like the idea of taxing carbon. I believe their are much better ways of learning to cope with climate change that is easy to bare for the average folk.

My contention is simple, once everyone sitting at the table agrees that Global Climate change is real we can then move together on how best to deal with the situation.

This is a very real problem.

And why are we discussing big oil/energy into the mix when this thread was not about it? Unless you believe any leaks or opposing studies are funded solely by big oil for nefarious purposes to destroy mankind through pollution, however that topic of discussion was not mentioned. I think you should be aware that big government is just as bad as big capitalist companies and more so. With big government, there isn't really anything you can do competitively, though the argument could cut both ways. No one cares if you don't like taxes, pay them or go to jail. That's the main rub.

I have my own views on climate change. What I am wondering is, are there any plans being made to maybe possibly move off of the planet and start new on another?? I mean, in the end, earth is going to be destroyed when the sun burns out and becomes a super nova or black hole.

Why not start a program that lets us colonize other planets???
