It is interesting you should mention that. What you are experiencing is very consistent with the scientific worldview of today, the worldview of quantum mechanics which posts that matter does not really exist, it is just a probability wave or wave-function, which only appears as matter when the observer collapses the wavefunction. And Quantum field theory which shows us how what we call matter is just virtual particles coming in and out of existence(existence in this case means the quantum vacuum) so rapidly, that matter appears to be solid, when in fact it is not.

The tiny dot phenomenon and other special kinds of perception phenonena merely lends credence to the modern scientific worldview that actually matter does not exist and it is just vibrating quantam particles. The fact that I can make things disappear into fuzziness when observing it is also consistent with the scientific worldview, I appear to destroy the matter illusion and see it as something more.

The worldview known as naive realism such as that of classical physics is no longer taken too seriously today. This view is only popular amongst people ignorant of modern science. Modern scientific views are much closer to Eastern metaphysics, or rather science is discovering that Eastern metaphysics is right and it is possible to know the reality of the world through meditation.

You have floaters. I have always had them as well, but after getting LASIK I got even more. If you had a sudden increase in floaters for no apparent reason, get checked by an ophthalmologist ASAP.

So what do you think they are? Seriously, I know you have formed some probably realistic idea of what they are. Pray tell.

Man, I wish I knew for an absolute fact. It has been there so long for me I've had time to examine, test for optical causes, etc. Whether "energetic" in nature or neural in nature, I really think it is indeed a result of something normally not concious being concious or becoming conscious by intentional internal focus. For me, the degree to which it manifests is also somewhat subject to intent (will) without any change in lighting conditions-- additional evidence for something not optical or retinal.

Also, it doesn't disrupt my normal use of vision at all and my night vision is quite good despite all the business.

Dude what the hell are you talking about!! WHITE BLOOD CELLS!! Are you implying people can see white blood cells which are inside the body from our own eyes. Jeeeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!

*bangs head on wall*

Yup. If the objects move when your eyes move, then what you see is immersed in the fluid inside your eyeball. It can be blood cells, strands of protein or droplets of pigment from broken cones or rods.

look I just think this is all a little bit of dust in our eyes. Really.

I've been seeing those since I was little! In the blue sky, pitch black rooms etc..
As a kid I always thought my eyes were a little bit dirty

OMG ALIENS/SPIRITS/SOMETHING SPECIAL

just kidding, it's dust.

I concur on the video contents. But, how are bits of dust floating in the air going to be visible in a completely darkened room? I think enough variables have been constrained by various posters including myself to rule out something principly optical in origin for many. At the most mundane level it neurological and originates within the visual system. I can rule out it being completely retinal in origin, at least in my case where vivid imagery can be derived by organizing the grains into 3-d shapes as well as being able to exercise other methods of control on what it does.

Ok, maybe I'm taking your post too seriously! Haha.

You realize that you wouldn't see anything if it was completely dark, right? Light is required to view anything, so whatever you are seeing (hint: it's dust), is reflecting whatever limited amounts of light are seeping into your room. It just so happens that dust is incredibly reflective.

Oh, and before you say there was no light in your room and it was 100% dark (no, it wasn't), understand that this statement only leaves the option of it being a completely mental creation. With no light, you can not see.

Made me chuckle!

I used to tell my Mother when I was little that I could see the air and the colours in it. That I could see a glow around people, animals and even objects....

She told me to shut up. So I did... and now I read this!

Perhaps it is just normal?

I went through a few years of tinitus, I had many many Doctors and Specialists tell me the same thing: "The noises you hear are ALWAYS there, you need to do what the rest of us do and ignore them again"

Well they went after a very good course with a chiropractor... if his body manipulation caused me to 'ignore' the sounds then kudos to him. Personally I think not.

I can see air, I can see what I presume are Auras... and I can 'feel' when a spider is in the room

This [or rather my experience] isn't floaters.

I suffer from time to time with migraine and get 'floater' warnings or sparks... This is always there but only when I LOOK for it... I have learned to see through it.

Its like a constant 'wobbling' of the air around and it can have colours too.... hard to explain but not floaters or migraine warnings

No, you can't see air. Nope, again, you don't see auras. And once more, no, you can't "feel" a spider's presence.

The final one is the best. It's like the people that see 3:33 on the clock and freak out about how "omg, every time I look at the clock it's 3:33".

No, it isn't. And no, you can't "feel" when a spider is in your room. Be honest with yourself and keep a log of every time you do your "wtf spider!?!?!" room scan and track your success rate. I get these same feelings all the time, and it's not some 6th sense, it's something we are watching/reading/whatever that for some reason is triggering the reaction. These don't have to have anything to do with spiders, by the way.

I've seen things shooting around in the sky as well when I look at it. They always looked translucent and the shape of microbes moving around in a petri dish almost. Its most likely the white cell explanation that another poster had.

I also see the snow like static effect at night when there is little to no light. I think it has to do with our eyes not being able to process true absence of light or something.

There was something weird though I remember doing as a kid all the time. I would bury my face into my arm, at the elbow, so that my entire field of vision was darkened. Strange geometric shapes would appear in varying colors and movement. If I focused hard enough I could almost form a tunnel with these moving shapes, and start traveling straight through it. It kind of made me feel strange when I did it, almost like when you're at an IMAX theater and the video is of some flyby or such and you feel as if you're moving even though you're stationary. Its harder for me to do it now though as opposed to when I was young. =(

Whatever it is, it sounds annoying.

I can put pressure on my eyes with my hands, and get the effect you guys are describing here. But it clears up very fast.

But IT'S NOT FLOATERS.

Also, I used to have really low blood pressure, and have long periods of time when I hated to eat food. During the bouts when my blood pressure would drop, I would experience this for a few seconds.

IT'S NOT BLOOD PRESSURE.

But whatever it is, I guess it's not harmful, just irritating.

Its like I said before this is all normal,
the shapes you see when you put your face pressed at your elbow?
Its just the pressure your making towards your eyes nothing else

And again, how can you see that in pitch blackness? The optical explanations take LIGHTING to actually be observed. I observe them myself in the right conditions. This other stuff I personally experience is all rather inversely proportional to light level.

The visuals are also far too homogenous across the visual field. They aren't subject to resolution differences accross the retina either. What is in peripheral vision is just as clear and crisp as what would be in the foveal region.

Floaters are normally random and sparse (moving eyes side to side you can even spin the fluid back and forth, making a particular one jiggle, the fluid has inertia). White cells (Blue field entoptic phenomena) follow curved tracks of the blood vessels and require a bright, even, blue or white background to pick up.

"Moving when eyes move" can happen because what is seen is fixed in a position relative to your visual field, not the eye.

This doesn't seem unusual at all. I have experienced the same thing. It actually happens to me the most during the winter. When I go outside in the daytime when there is snow all around, the bright white everywhere irritates my eyes and I see what appears to be particles of dust everywhere, as though they were right on my eyeballs. And when it snows here, it snows A LOT! so I see these little things everywhere I look. My father and sister experience the same thing, but for some reason my mother does not.

It also happens to me in the dark. If I'm in a completely pitch black room I will see the particles everywhere, except it is a little different in the dark... in the dark it looks more like television snow/static, except not as intense (obviously) and the dots are spaced farther apart, but they do jump around erratically like television snow/static.

My father once told me a story about a crazy uncle of his. Apparently he was convinced that the floaters in his eye were small worms or parasites on his eyeball, and whenever he saw them he would try to pick them out with tweezers
He was mentally unstable to begin with, but after a few years of this obsession he ended up going crazy and had to be sent to the madhouse.

i too have seen this from an early age, sometimes they are so many that my room at night looks like things are moving and the room seems more alive than normal, i presumed everybody could see these tbh and thats why i have never really given it much thought, but after reading this post it seems not everyone can see this, interesting....

Just to add also i see people mention floaters etc , they are not even remotely similar , this is like little particles of light that swish and move about in the dark, it sometimes hurts my eyes with the intensity, something similar is that i can also see peoples auras and the energy surrounding them, this is maybe tied in to the same type of energy people are seeing, just my 2 cents.

I have had the same thing. Not floaters like the previous posted commented, but little ... somethings. This has been discussed before, but usually people just claim they are floaters and thats it. I have one of these floaters (kinda annoying actually) but these little "things" i see are definitely not that.

I kinda think that I am "seeing" particles. Not unlike the dust you can see within the column of sun coming in through window, but smaller.

I see them only on blue sky days (as oppsed to full cloud days), but I always see them on these days. Always. Everytime. I have no idea what they are. Neutrinos, particles annilhlating themselves, I have no clue, but i just take them for granted and enjoy their company when I spot them.

Oh, I must add, that I "see" thousands of them. Not a few floating around, but thousands floating around, some zipping by fast, others floating around like a leaf on a windy day.

Anyways you are not alone. I have no idea as to what we are seeing, but it is NOT floaters.

Here, here! Only on blue sky days and they're always a translucent white and they really do give you the impression that they are particulate.

I just tested that again. Yep, that works just fine! Mostly purple.

IT'S NOT BLOOD PRESSURE.

perhaps if you studied up on how your eyes work to process information?

photoreceptors in the eye+rods and cones are the keywords to begin with.

it will likely explain a lot about why you are seeing dots that aren't floaters etc etc.

Ok, i forget who mentioned it, but someone said that what I was describing was also something that he saw in infrared camera pointed at the sky.

Good old youtube. I found a video, A UFO one, where the specks in the video are moving around kinda like what I see. They go in all directions, slow and fast. While not perfectly what I see, (I see thousands) it is close enough to give others a taste.

Ignore the UFO part of the video and just watch the little specks. Remember I see thousands (there are only a few in the video). around 36sec mark it kinda starts.
