When I close my eyes, I see binary, grids, and Celtic knots.

When I close my eyes tight, I start seeing patterns, binary, grids, and Celtic knots. What does this mean?

The picture I have up is the knot I see.

Everyone who sees, Phlynx, sees that sort of stuff.

When I close my eyes tight, ...

Then just shut them. You may be making phosphenes (searchable) by the pressure.

Thanks, it explains the swirls and the girds, but the binary? I wonder what the symbolism of that is?

Generally it is a blue or a purple colour.

What do you mean by Binary? I think of 1s and 0s. You see ones and zeros? Could also be translated into black and white, on and off, negative & positive...

Yes, 1s and 0s

When I close my eyes and cover it with my hands to create 100% darkness and concentrate a bit I can start to see what looks like a wide expanse of sea viewed from a high altitude, it looks like a sheet with sunlight sparkling off the wave tops, but not exactly, sometimes it is broken up in a grid pattern with black in between the 'sea'. The 'sea' undulates, sometimes like a swirl or a curving wave.

I've never tried to really concentrate into the visages of the patterns, it was just a thing I do on a lark, but once, deep in the trip journeying across the sea I went upon a bright point of light and I opened my eyes. I should try it again, though. Now i'm curious..

It's funny, I see some of the same things I do during a trip. The scenery, geometrical shapes and patterns.. kinda fun to watch though I haven't done it much, but I've seen them and know I can induce them.

You might have synesthesia, I also see geometric shapes including the ones in your pic and its caused by synesthesia.
