**** UPDATE, 9:41 p.m. ET: Earlier today, I contacted Tedd Petruna, the brave passenger on AirTran Flight 297, who–with another Texan–saved the day from apparent Islamic terrorists, leaving him a voicemail message asking for confirmation of the e-mail and events below. Mr. Petruna called me back, tonight, and confirmed that he did write the e-mail below and that it’s all true. WAKE. UP. AMERICA. We are under siege. ****

no problem we have all done it or something more stupid before!!

Its a little shocking that this isnt being taken to seriously? They stop 80 yr old people in front me of me at the security yet this gets nothing?

Just read the article. What did the guy mean by:
"I was in 1st class coming home. 11 Muslim men got on the plane in full attire."

www.debbieschlussel.com...

Did he mean in "Muslim" attire I wonder?
It would seem a bit odd if these guys were practicing for some kind of attack.
Wouldn't they have worn the same type of clothes as everyone else so as to blend in more?
Wouldn't they also have maybe got on the plane seperatly, and sat apart from each other, again,to blend in?

So I am not sure they were terrorists, obnoxious idiots certainly.
Seems a bit fishy whatever it was-maybe it was a TSA/Feds op-testing passenger awareness or something?
Put a load of stereotype "terrist"types on a plane, have them act up to see if the passengers report them-something like that..?

Having read all the related source material and having listened to an interview with the chaplain, which can be played or downloaded here: www.gillreport.com... (December 3, hour 3), I have got to say that this all sounds credible, probable, and likely. All of the detractors so far have picked away at minor items, like there's an agenda because Tedd Petruna described the suspected terrorists as "in full dress" and because in a later interview, he said that they were getting bold because they had one of their own in office.

I can tell you that if I had just had a potentially life threatening experience, you know the kind that we have all been made to fear by events of the past decade, I might say something in anger and indignation that might come across even worse than Tedd's comments. Additionally, just because the MSM and some private citizens subscribe to the tenants of political correctness, does not mean that we call do, and it does not make those of us who don't, wrong.

As for his comment "in full dress" or whatever it was he said, not all of us have spent time studying middle eastern culture and when put on the spot, may not have a better way to describe it. I'd have said, "dressed like muslims" and I am sure there are those who would fault me for it. But, I don't care. The USA is not a muslim country, and I don't' feel the need to learn anything more about islam than I already know. It's not my job, and I have no interest in it, and if as a result, I don't know the technical jargon for robes and turbans and what have you, then so be it.

I am personally angry that the world has come to be in the state that it is in. I am angry that people still kill each other over resources, religion, culture. It's ridiculous. Anyway, my intent was not to rant, but to shore up the validity and likelihood of the events as relayedby Mr. Petruna and Dr. Robinson.

A quick google news search pulled up multiple news stories on this:

Snopes.com:Flight 297

Canada Free Press article

keep in mind those are just a few articles from around the net. Theres no way to really know what happened on the flight, but from the four or five articles I just read it seems like your post may be a bit inaccurate. It really does sound like something out of a bad action movie, the way they described it. I dont know a huge amount about Islam, but Im pretty sure that watching porn in an airplane isnt part of it. I think it is more likely that they may have been recording something.

The whole event and all the stories smell fishy though, thats for sure. The way that passenger from Texas described it almost seemed so ridiculous that it was meant to throw people off. What better way to discredit legitimate investigation than to spread rumors that make anyone asking about it look crazy. Also, the fact that the reports are so varied is weird. Maybe people are just trying to play this up?

Yeah this site is trying to downplay it too. Here's my rationale for who to believe.

1. Do I know the media? Yes
2. Do I trust the media? No
3. Has Snopes been shown to have a liberal agenda before? Yes
4. Do I trust Snopes? No
5. Do I know either man that has relayed their accounts of what happened? No
6. Given what I know and what I don't, I feel much better about trusting two guys I don't know than I do trusting the msm or snopes.

I believe the whole thing went down. I do believe that this was a dry run of sorts. Maybe a measurement of the public reaction thus far into their testing.

Think. The nine eleven hijackers dressed as though they were not muslims. Afterward, the emphasis on the muslim religion began. Now you have eleven subjects dressed as though they are muslims and blatantly carrying on as though they have an agenda.

What could be gained by learning how the passengers reacted? What can you do with this information? How tight are the guitar strings?

Look, I understand where youre coming from but what you just said made no sense. Yes the mainstream media is, in general, untrustworthy. However most of their lies go towards sensationalizing stories, especially stories like this which could be used as fuel for fear mongering.

You said you would trust the story of these two men though you have never met. On one hand you say dont blindly trust the media, but on the other you blindly trust these two who could just as easily be shills for whoever. You should always analyze the motivation behind information when someone is pushing it at you, especially as blatant as the supposed story from these two men is. I find it funny that you dont trust snopes for being "liberal" but you trust your source though its obviously quite "conservative". Bias is a funny thing.

this is a quote from your own source: "In a statement to 11 News, AirTran said, “A number of the allegations included in the article posted by Mr. Petruna conflict with the statements obtained by the flight crew.”
A woman on the flight told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that the man didn't understand the flight attendant because he didn't speak English."

So on one hand you have a story from two men who have shown clearly racist or at least anti-islamic tendencies in the writing of the story. Petruna himself said that he didnt see the man watching porn, that was made up. So already theres one piece of the story that was clearly false and presented as true.

These two claim a ridiculous action movie plot went down where they had to intervene for the flight attendants and help to thwart a terrorist action. Nevermind the other people on the plane who said it was a simple miscommunication, or the fact that the men reboarded the plane (with our security restrictions on flights, do you really think that would be allowed?) or the idea these men would perform the actions of security and TSA is absurd in its own right?

Sorry to say, but it really looks like this email circulating is fear mongering and mostly made up. While I do not deny that something happened on that flight, the sensationalism behind it makes it seem like it wasnt much of a story, that they were probably just trying to get rich in a lawsuit like another poster though. After all, if its a big deal its made to be small, but a small deal gets sensationalized just like this.
