Yeah I do. I think the industrial revolution was a good thing. I think without the industrial revolution the middle class would have never sprung up or if so sprung up dramatically more slowly.

How did you come to this conclusion? I am curious.

A true well run communistic state would manage to provide computers for all or very affordable. You make the same mistakes other did by associating soviet russia to communism. It isn't.

And think about it, China , a communist country, has more internet surfers than the US (or closing by quickly).
And I don't appreciate when a moderator allows himself to decide which opinions are idiotic.

Take a look at Wilson's tacticts when he was in office...sound communistic?

The founding of the fed (centralized banking)....the income tax (redistribution of wealth) were done as part of that early progressive era.

And communism or collectivism will never work as our very nature as human beings can't and won't allow for that. We are genetically wired to hunt, fight and possess. No amount of playing nicey nice with each other will change that.

Until the Annunaki come back and tweak our DNA some more, then individualism will reign supreme.

The one thing I hate about progressives is....they bite so easily.

True Communism and the versions of communism that we have seen in our history are two totally different things.

For a true communism to exist there would be no need for a central government at all. Communism as it was intended is really closer to Utopian ideals. The versions of Communism we've seen are actually closer to fascism and socialism. There has never been a truly communist nation on earth.

I don't support what we call "communism" with even a single cell in my body. I was simply adding the point that communism in its purest form cannot and will not exist.

TheOracle, again you are wrong, China, like other Communist countries bans people from certain websites, such as this one, and there are more Americans with internet connection than Chinese.... Very few Chinese people in China have internet connection, and those who do and have access to sites like this one are working for the Chinese Communist Party, they are not just regular Chinese people...

You are trying too hard to portray Communism as good, when it is not good in the least. Every time it has been tried it ALWAYS turns into a dictatorship.

If you don't care that millions of your people were systematically murdered, and millions more put in gulags, that is your problem.

You can have your opinion, as you are entitled to, but obviously your opinion is wrong.

Is Communism a bad thing? In the past I've seen such words as Communism and Socialism presented as things people should fear. We are all big enough on these forums to know such words are not fear. Happiness is not defined by such words.

Without progress we would still be single celled organisms and without a communal spirit we would be a sadder species then we already are.

I lived, and experienced Communism in Communist Cuba, i lived and experienced a mixed of Socialism/Capitalism in Spain/Portugal, and I have lived in the representative, or Constitutional Republic of the United States.

Things have only gotten worse in the U.S. because Socialist/Communist programs have been implemented by the Socialist elite who have wanted control of the U.S.

In Cuba families are given a food notebook which states what sort of foods the family can buy and how many, if there is anything at the store. Most of the time people have to choose between two things. For example, you choose for a family of 4 either 1 toothpaste, or one bar of soap for the month, and most families choose the soap because we would use the soap, and our fingers to brush our teeth, and the soap can be used to take a shower. both the soap, and toothpaste are really bad too, but anyway.

At 7 years old the Communist system claims that children don't need to drink milk, so people who have children 7 years + cannot buy milk.

I also remember extremely well as my two older sisters were taken away to work for 45 days in summer labor camps "for the good of the nation", and in what the Obama administration is trying to implement as "Mandatory Community Service."

You cannot tell me that it is the same thing in a Communist nation, and in a country like the U.S. because i have actually experienced and lived in both countries. but the way things are going very soon the Republic of the United States will be completely transformed into another Socialist dictatorship thanks to the Socialist elites.

I've seen people's comments get censored here for political trolling, bad decorum and other offenses, but this guy starts a thread with the premise that progressives are "filthy, lying communists", launches into a half thought out screed that's more opinion than fact and that's totally kosher? Really...?

Some people keep trying to claim this but let me ask you this. How is it a "true utopia" when individualism is suppressed "for the good of all"?... How is it an utopia when "any form of spiritualism is suppressed for the good of all".... I have also seen you to love to ask "how has Obama taken away any rights" and then you run away from the thread when people post a long list with excerpts, and links to laws which President Obama signed, not to mention the videos he has made telling people in general that they shouldn't have a choice.... From telling an old lady "you might be better continuing to take your pills, than getting treatments, and or operations even if the doctors say it might help you" to Mandatory Community Service, and laws like H.R. 1388...

But being "social" doesn't equal to, or demands giving away our individual rights, which is what Socialism/Communism demand as doctrines.

You can be social and still be an individual, but individuality is a no no in Socialism/Communism. The "whole" and the "revolutionary cause" is the only thing that matters to Socialist/Communist doctrines, at the expense of individualism, and this is what ALWAYS turns scientific, or true Socialism/Communism into a dictatorial and oppressing rule.

Do you need real numbers, real fact : people get less money than 40 years ago (compared with the gdp) : and the gdp as grew up not the salary : a large percentage goes to wall street and less in the salary. So yes this is really capitalist

Unemployment and labour market flexibility : is good for the market (in theory ), not for human beings. IN FACT : the flexibility has destroyed the productivity globally if you read statistics.
