Well gentlemen and ladies, I hate to reveal all my sourcings for information, but in this one case, I'll give you this brain-teaser of one:
Air Force Overviews

Maybe this will help you all to determine who has the best fighter squadrons, per se'.

Enjoy!

Nice site?
Do not fear, its not mine.

I happened upon it and found it to be quite up-to-date and accurate.
Very nice indeed.
Certainly did not mean to upstage you, only wanted to provide a possible reference site for a possible determination of your question/topic.

Just for fun, I will say the best fighter squadron is Fighter Squadron Two, VF-2 "Bounty Hunters." They were one of the first two to recieve the F-14A Tomcat and they are just plain cool.

VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" were pretty cool too.

Some squadrons throughout history that I dig:

Lentolaivue 34, Finnish Air Force
9 GvIAP, Russian Air Force

In my opinion it's one of the F-15 squadrons that became famous during the Gulf War, maybe Steven Tate's squadron
Another possibility is the Vulture Squadron

"968 IAP" aka the 968th Russian Fighter Regiment stationed at Lipetsk

First Fighter Squadron of the Israeli Air Force

The USAF's 27th Fighter Squadron at Langley... (just a personal preference...)

Historically the Flying Tigers were pretty amazing, and so were Faith, Hope and Charity, although they were strictly a flight rather than a Sqn.

I love the RAF fighter Sqns and their insignia, especially 43 Sqn, the fighting cocks.

Although it is a flight, it is given the same personel as a full squadron:

my vote:- 1147 flight.

Ironically while these three aircraft defended an island at the heart of the empire, their modern namesakes, flight 1435, defend almost all thats left of the empire.

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron, Langley AFB, VA. Hands down!

.....not that I'm biased or anything because that was my unit when I was in the service!
