Obama will be here for his whole term. I also think it's possible for him to be re-elected again in 2012. Remember we have just over 2 years, the media still has a strange hold over the majority of people who really don't have the best attention/memory span and a great deal fall head over heels for shiny shiny and very little substance. Obama was proof of that and his celebrity like status which was more important than actual policies. The media can make important things unimportant, and unimportant things the most pressing topic of the month if they so wish. In 2012 either republicans or democrats will win, that pretty much says it all when it comes to the voting public. They still haven't realised the trend over the decades....

Solomons, yes, hold the shiny bauble up to distract the populace, meanwhile no one notices that they are being walked into a trap, this is Divide and Conquer in action.

The Hegelian Dialectic if you will, it works, it keeps the populace confused.

So many people do not even know what the Hegelian Dialectic is, or how powerful it is wielded professionally, especially by the election machine.

Well, I hope, Janky Red, you realize this is not an Obama trashing thread.

It is not, because I am commenting from the middle, being neither left-wing, nor right-wing.

I am driving around town daily seeing the houses foreclosed on, seeing cars for sale everywhere, watching people dumpster-dive to pay their bills, and all for what reason?

There was supposed to be some sort of alleged Stimulus Bill that was supposed to kick-start the economy, yet it was wasted giving to it to the robber-barrons, car industry, and keeping us embroiled in two wars we do not need.

See, that's the thing, war usually is the fastest way to kick a failing economy in the keister, yet where is that happening with all the fall out of N.A.F.T.A. still strangling our country.

If he truly wanted to do something to stimulate the economy, he would get N.A.F.T.A. repealed and make tax incentives for companies working within the boundaries of the country that needs it right now, the United States.

Where is all the alleged money for small businesses as well?

No, you got me all wrong, I am just expressing my political opinion regarding the game of politics. I was trying to examine the playing field, future plays, manuvers and options.

I am very disappointed with the man AND I ALSO detest the hard right, frankly I feel without a home... Obama took so much good will and pee pee'ed on a simple set of
"objectives" that his supporters wanted achieved. At the same time the right is fairly
disgusting in their approach, many will wonder what is worse - "more of the same" (obama) or the alternative "more of the same" Commie, lazy people are the ones without jobs, if you are hungry eat your hand, if you have cancer go to the emergency room, if its brown flush it down (GC), ready, fire, aim and the patriotic stupor - spreading freedoms!

I don't know what is f-ing worse for me - Thats the rub for many of us - Obama is a Bush light of policy and a Dick supreme on the WTF is going on front. But then we have the other side of the coin which is rather overt corporation before America (Obama but in all its naked splendor) crowd. Wrap it in a flag and call anything that limits corporate dominance as RUSSIAN RED.

This dynamic is being fed obviously, but the patriotic crowd seems to welcome american distruction by letting the producer produce.

Obama has a rotten carrot and the right is only a stick, by next election that stick will be tapped together after smashing it across Obamas forehead. The stick will be useless
because people will be desensitized to its presence.

So I do not like either or, or the option, as the alternative is just the in your face version of what Obama is wading into. Calling it socialism is like calling Manson a mercy
killer - I ask if ANY of you have received a state check, bounds or any sort of steady revenue stream from this "socialism"? By mis labeling it to reap the benefits of xenophobic reaction the right is now calling a dog a cat.

So how do you address the real issues of this presidency if you only deal in pulling heart strings? All those strings have been pulled already, the framing is completely wrong, so there will not be any real coherent message to sell when it is time to run against him.

So I say again, IF this economy starts rolling again, Obama is in there for another four.
You fringe to far out and you will still lose the indies, they will fear the drastic shift, look to Obama who actually looks more centrist than what people are calling him and then check the dow. I say centrist because he is behaving to the right of what I had expected. He has all but abandoned all of his REAL american left tenets, but he is a socialist -
- its gonna be real hard to line these up without the good ol American
base minded, fear baiting.

The corporation gets fed either way, we foot the bill either way-

If Bush could get two terms then anybody else can get two terms. Obama will handily get two terms as there is no viable Republican candidate and conservatives are too busy scaring off moderates with hyperbole.

The Obama administration has found a way to piss off a lot of people, and especially some in government agencies.

You think the party crashers are and were what the MSM are portraying it to be?

It was a warning.

Kennedy pissed off the same people too, and he didn't last long either.

Obama should consider hiring his own private security for the rest of his term. Because the next time there is an intentional lapse in security it could end badly for him.

With his own private security staff Obama will serve out the rest of his term and likely be defeated in the 2012 election.

Without taking measures to protect himself outside of the secret service he could end his presidency early in a similar manner as JFK did.

Janky Red, well said, I was just clarifying my position as to the reason for the thread.

People have been known to accuse people as So and So Bashing withouth thought of whether the original poster was looking at it from their party perspective, their personal perspective, or like myself, from a middle ground where I look at the over all impact of the President, based on looking at both sides of the conflict.

Think of it as looking at both sides of the coin, once it has been flipped, to make sure it is not a two-headed coin, a two-headed snake if you will, waiting to strike.

Local people here have tried shoving me both right or left, seeing if I would budge my stances.

I look straight down the middle, looking both left and right, and walk down the middle.

Yes, this is true, and if the threat is big enough, he will get re-elected.

Dick Cheney may be used as a boogeyman, to get Obama a second term.

This is about as scary as Freddy Kreuger running, the difference is at least Freddy admits he's sick and twisted.

Yes, I agree, the opposition party is trying desperately to embarrass the White House.

Anything to tear down Obama.

Hence why I clarified my position earlier to Janky Red, I am not trying to tear the man or the Office down, I am instead showing that there is a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Quote from : Wikipedia : Smoke and Mirrors

Smoke and mirrors is a metaphor for stress analysis, in other words insubstantial explanation or description.

The source of the name is based on magicians' illusions, where magicians make objects appear or disappear by extending or retracting mirrors amid a confusing burst of smoke.

The expression may have a connotation of virtuosity or cleverness in carrying out such a deception.

In the field of computer programming, it is used to describe a program or functionality that doesn't yet exist, but appears as though it does (cf. vaporware).

This is often done to demonstrate what a resulting project will function/look like after the code is complete — at a trade show, for example.

More generally, "smoke and mirrors" may refer to any sort of presentation by which the audience is intended to be deceived, such as an attempt to fool a prospective client into thinking that one has capabilities necessary to deliver a product in question.

And they are being used by both sides, this is Divide and Conquer, the Hegelian Dialectic.
